Thanks so much ladies, i am trying to think positive and remind myself that i have already had two trouble free natural births and this one will be just the same .... i just might have to wait a little longer for it

Mel....i've been shaking my body - you said you did it for approx 2 mins at a time can i ask how often did you do it ?

i had insulin dependent GD and was induced with gels at 39 weeks. i had the first lot put in at 3pm which started a few mild contractions then another lot of gels put in at 10pm which ramped things up but still bearable. at 12.55am i rolled over in bed and my waters broke on their own - no further induction methods were used. by 1.00am i was in active labour and DD was born vaginally with no assistance, no tears at 8.00am

    GL!!

Every time I thought of it. So I was shaking it and then go do something... then when I had a free moment, do it again. Really swing that belly baby!!! I was probably doing it every 15 minutes?

Plus I also had the evening primrose being inserted every night, and the clary sage oil on my belly (just a little bit diluted otherwise was too strong for VBAC chance).

Dilute the clary sage with a bit of olive oil and rub it on your tum before you go to bed. You could even try having a clary sage bath! I did it a few times leading up to birth day.

Oh wow, that often well i better go get shakin some more i've only done it a few times since i posted my last post - that ain't going to be enough if i want things to get going.
What's the deal with the evening primrose....do you insert a capsule or something? Would try both this and the clary sage but i dont have either so for tonight at least it will just have to be the shakin

Yeah evening primrose is inserted - we inserted two pills every night. And I rubbed the clary sage (diluted) on my belly before bed.

    How's that shakin?

Hope the shakin' is going well. I'm sitting here giggling at the thought of a 41 week pg woman shaking her belly and self - funny images, LOL!!

    Hi westy,

I was induced 5 weeks ago. I had wanted an active, drug-free, natural birth. But I was 40+12, and baby had not engaged, cervix was not ripe - my body was just not ready for birth, but being that overdue had its own risks! Had 2 lots of gel, then contractions every 2 mins for a few hours. Finally got my epidural, and ended up with emergency c-section as baby's heart rate dropped too much. Now, I know this isn't the sort of story you want to hear, but I'm telling it because I want you to know:
    - I survived. It was awful, but I survived (and darn proud of myself too!!)
    - I am almost completely healed from c-section (and only had pain meds for about a week)
    - C-section wasn't as bad as I had expected - some of the mums who had tears looked like they were in more pain than I was
    - I have a beautiful, healthy baby

So, if it ends up this way for you, you too will be ok

... but I hope you get the birth you want! All the best. Keep shaking!
