    Labour..

I'm just curious to those who have been through it..
What changed in the last few days leading up to the labour? Did the braxton hicks get really bad? Did your bowels keep emptying themselves.. Or Nothing and then BAM - you were in labour?

..yes I'm going to keep bugging everybody until I have this little one

    Labour..

I kept running to the loo, bh would start in the early hours of the morning and continued longer and longer and also got closer together each day and I just knew something was happening not just bh anymore. For me this was at 35 weeks, was put on meds to try and stop it but the same pattern continued until my waters broke at 37 weeks.

    #1 - Nothing .. then waters broke.
    #2 - Nothing ... then got contractions.
#3 has dropped noticably and the wriggling so low is uncomfortable, but we'll see

I felt 'weird' the day before. Nauseous and a light headache. Just an off feeling. Then was quite stiff in the back that night. Went to bed at about 10.30, woke at 2.30 and had to do a TMI ... number 2... (i never ever go during the night, so this was weird for me), first contraction was felt at 3.00am!!

    Hope its soon for you!

A few days before I went into labour I had lots of BH, quite regular then would stop for awhile. I started losing my plug too every time I went to the loo there would be more. Ummmmm......just trying to cast my mind back.......the morning I went into labour I had a bloody show. This was bright red blood that really gave me a fright! Then I had nothing all day (which really annoyed me!) no BH or anything else. Bubs was still moving around like nothing was happening! Late afternoon I HAD to clean both of our bathrooms lol. Finally at 7pm that evening I started having very regular contractions that were 15 mins apart. By midnight they were 5 mins apart.
My DS never engaged as I had sooo much fluid, he just bobbed around in there happy as larry! So I never had any of that pressure or leg pain that I've heard other mum's talk about leading up to the big day. At the time I was afraid that he would never come out because of this lol.

Nothing really - major emotional meltdown the night before but thats about it.. then just started getting contractions at 5am. Didn't lose my plug, didn't have any bad BH's, bowels had been emptying themselves for about 3 weeks so that didn't change...

With DS1 i went for a walk around the block and had a few twinges but just put this down to the fact that i was going for a walk and i was over 39 weeks pregnant. That night i went to bed and had the slightest of twinges that would come and go. Woke up at 2am and they were still there and stronger, had a show and things progressed from there...

With DS2 i'd had 2 or 3 days of twinges but i wouldn't call them contractions or braxton hicks. Woke up as DH was getting ready for work on the 4th morning, i felt nothing at all and thought nothing more of it. Had a shower and was drying myself and saw a trickle that i had no feeling or control over drop down from between my legs. I had no pain or contractions at all. Had a GP appt booked in anyway so went to that and was sent to hospital from there as i had merconium in my waters. Was starting to feel contractions by the time we were arriving at the hospital.

Nothing for me that was obvious.....just woke up BAM one morning to contractions. Bowels emptied & vomited that morning in amidst it all happening. But nothing that gave me any inkling it was on the way. I even spent the night before up late with a close friend and her new bub and just didn't sense anything.

No nesting for me, but I did kind of go into hiding or hibernation for a week or so prior - but I put that down to finally finishing up at work and having an opportunity to relax.

Started losing my plug on a Saturday, gradually lost bits of it throughout the week, Thursday I said to my Husband, I think things are "happening" I just had a feeling, no symptoms of imminent labour as such but I just felt like I "knew" it was about to happen if that makes sense? Then Friday at 8am my waters broke, contractions started straight away and 24 hours later, DS arived at 0808 on Saturday morning Good luck! Can't wait to hear the wonderful news!!

DD had a show and the next day waters broke. Woke up at 2am and 'knew' i was in labour...
    DS1 Induced
DS2 Woke up and 'knew' i was in labour. Had a great sleep the night before, and a S&S.
    DS3 Had a S&S around 2pm, and went into labour around 8pm.

I dont really get the 'nesting' instinct, but with the boys i have had horrible sleeps from 3rd tri on, this time round, as soon as i hit the pillow i'm asleep, dont even wake for a wee run. So i guess if i have a bad nights sleep then it labour wont be too far away.

    Goodluck hun!

My belly dropped from 29 weeks, I had been having BH's from 22 weeks, but mine were the belly going hard for up to 1-2 hours at a time, not contracting as such. But when it happened, no hint it was coming except for my nesting at work

Went to yoga, had a very relaxing session, DD was kicking around a lot as usual, went to the toilet before leaving for a wee, all completely normal, no blood or anything to indicate what was about to happen. Less than 10 minutes after leaving waters broke, no ctx for 45 min then straight into 5 min appart, then moved to 3 min appart, regular from the start, DD was born 1 hr 30-45min from first contraction. So no buildup, no loss of plug, no cramps, no warning

Thinking of you hun, won't be too far away now xxxooo
