Could just be a natural big bubba. I don't see that as being big. Dd2 was 2745 born at 34 weeks. Both girls were predicted to be 4kg and all due to family genetic of big babies
Hi everyone... today I had my 33 week growth scan and placenta check!
All good re placenta and that has now moved up out of the way!!![]()
However they recorded a larger than average tummy...90th percentile!.. babies average is 60th percentile and estimated at 2131g
No GD, she asked me what I had been feeding bubs... at the time I forgot to mention the fact that we have HEAPS of figs from our tree and I have been gorging on these over the last few weeks!!
Could this have been causing the sugar hit for bubs?????
What are the possibilities of developing GD this late in the game??...
OB has asked me to do ***** test (using mums machine) 3-4 times over the next two weeks before I see her!!
thanks

yes.....DD was going to be too large so was induced at 38 weeks! (has always had/has head circumference in the 90th percentile!)
I'm hoping it's just this little bubba has a good appetite!!![]()
Mine have always had head circumference up there. At 12 months dd1 head was way above the line on the graph which resulted in a pediatric visit - again genetics.
90th percentile is still normal. At 20 weeks I had a scan that had abdo > 99 percentile - so very abnormal. They were looking into investigating GD early, ans some other tests too. I was hesitant, with good cause. I bought the scan images to the doctor- the sonographer was sooo off lol, the measurement was so poor it looked like bubs was wearing a hula hoop lol. Doc still wanted to do tests (measurements were readjusted to 85% ile) but midwife says its just a healthy bub. I wouldnt be too concerned with 90% ile, sounds like they are just being cautious :-)
Yes well both DH and my head is above the line. With dd2 I made the dr in the special care nursery make notes in the file before leaving
at that gestation they are actually able to drink amniotic fluid, so it could be as simple as the measurements being taken when the baby is 'full' kwim? 90% is still normal, but just at the higher end. I honestly wouldn't be worrying too much if everything else is on track and there are no other indications that something is gonig on
OK.... so I shouldn't be concerned about it?!... Thanks everyone...
Caz_88- My OB does tend to be over cautious about things!..Just doing her job I guess, that's what you pay her for! haha
I'm trying not to think about it too much...
Trillian - bubba was doing a lot of breathing during the ultrasound..so could most definitely be what you suggest!![]()
Hey hun,
When I was pregnant with DD1 and had my scan her tummy was large and was way above the percentile band and gee was I soooo stressed ...... So I went back after 6 weeks for another scan (the longest 6 weeks of my life!) and while it was still big it was no where near as big... She born a healthly 4.1kg and has the most beautiful belly!
