Let's talk thin creamy discharge... (TMI, obviously)

After my "big scare" on Tuesday, I've been super-aware of everything going on in my body - is that little pain the baby moving or something more sinister?, when was the last time I felt him/her move?, etc. - but nothing more than checking for any kind of vaginal discharge. They asked so many times in the hospital that it was firmly implanted in my head that any changes should be looked into

Anyway, I just had a nice big dollop of bright yellowish-green thin(ish) creamy discharge on my loo paper. I've had the same colour mucus on and off from the beginning, but the change in texture has me stumped. And there was so much of it!

So do I panic and risk another "just in case" overnight stay in hospital, or do I not worry about it? Is there any way I can skip the next sevenish weeks of worrying over every little niggle?

Thats what mine was like and i lost it in pieces from about the same time as you. I described it like clag glue LOL

It might be an idea to call and let the birth suite know.

i had that and it was my plug starting to come away, but i also had just cm that colour as well....

so really im prob no great help im sorry!

oh hun totally understand the panic your going through. The obsessive checking of the toilet paper is something I've done for weeks convinced I missed a sign with my DS of prem term birth. The discharge you speak of sounds normal to me, well from what I have read in the What to expect when your expecting, but it cant hurt to call the midwives, it might put your mind at ease.

in terms of the when did Cookie move last, it might help for you to keep a rough record, just a piece of paper with the time you felt the movement. It helped me heaps when I got to late at night and couldnt remember how many through the day, but when I checked the paper could it see it was plenty. I only started that recently after a bit of scare, it really helped me keep my sanity.

It's not quite that thick, more like... You know when you're whipping cream, and before it starts getting solid, it goes thinner first? Kinda like that.

Hmm, so it *could* be my plug starting to cone away? I thought that was usually a bit bloody, though?

I'll give the hospital a call once I hop out the bath (yeah, BBing in the bath, I'm obsessed ) - suppose i should keep an eye out for any *in* the bath, too, hey?

Mine never had blood in it. The only blood i saw was when i had my bloody show after my waters broke.

For now i would just monitor it. It could be normal discharge or could be your plug coming away. Its different for everybody but trust your instincts if you believe its not right just give your birth suite a call just for some advice.

I think there's a difference between your plug & a bloody show.

I only had a bloody show once (with Pie) and it was like when you have a bad cold, and you blow your nose & there's blood in it (yeah, gross). Your plug can come away in bits for ages before labour.

I did have a lot of discharge though & it would change a bit from time to time. Sometimes it was so thin it was like I'd wet myself, other times it would get a bit thicker. I don't think it was ever yellow or green though.

I tend to agree with KM, I'd keep an eye on it for now & if you're feeling worried, give them a call.

being thin I doubt it would be your plug, but hey i'm not expert. If it would help i'd ring up and ask.

Teni, it sounds just like a thicker, more colourful version of leukorrhea to me.
I think your plug is a bit thicker than what you're describing, but even if it were your plug I wouldn't be alarmed.
It's the colour that I'd find a little worrying...? It's a very faint yellow/green? I'm sure it's fine as long as it doesn't smell bad. If it's smelly too it could be thrush or some kind of infection, but if it's very faint colour and not particularly smelly then I'd say its just one of those uncomfy discharges of pregnancy.
I'm not a midwife though, so maybe call them if you're worried. xx

You do whatever makes you feel comfortable babe.

I would think that discharge would be normal unless its itchy, smells off or stings down there or your getting regular BH. BUT... Im also no expert and if it will help put your mind at ease, give them a quick ring. I always go by the motto "When in doubt, get it checked out".

I don't want to be the thread fear monger but yellowish greenish does ring alarm bells for me. I think it would be best to ring your midwives just to be on the safe side.

It could be some plug, it could be Leukorrhea, it is really hard to tell, if in doubt give the MW's a call, it is better to know one way or another

I lost bits of plug throughout both my pregnancies, but I never noticed losing the whole thing and never had a bloody show, just bleeds.

i had weird yellow going on green tinge CM towards the end. it would come in all consistencies sometimes thick like moisturiser, sometimes more "jelly-like" and then other times just uber amounts of my expectations of "normal" CM consistency.

i'd hazard that it is just one of those weird and gross parts of the last part of pregnancy.

if you are feeling really anxious about it, give 'em a call.

I mentioned a similar sort of thing to my midwife this week... she did tell me that vaginal mucous changes through pregnancy - more so at the end.

Just ring and have a chat to them...
