Smile Movements slow down before labour????

Im 38 weeks pregnant today and just recently i have noticed babys movements slow down alot, still having ten movements every 12 hours like you should be but she is no where near as active as she was like 2-3 days ago its like i can hardly feel her... Is this a sign of labour aproaching very soon? As iv known my partners lil sister when she was expecting the day she went into labour her lil baby boy had hardly moved that day and it really concerned her so just curious to weather any of you ladies know that if a babys movements are not as strong and as often as usual its a sign of her arriving very soon... xXx

I've also heard that bubs slowing down can be a sign of labour but then I've also heard of other bubs being active right before and during labour? My bub has also slowed down a bit lately but my OB said its probably because it is quite cramped in there and there just isn't much room to move!

I am 38 weeks tomorrow and was wondering the exact same thing!! My bub has slowed down heaps in the last few days...I was a bit worried, but yeah the movements are still there (just less vigorous and fewer). No idea if labour is soon approaching, but I don't *think* so

Yeah its a confusing one isnt it... some people have said when iv told them how active she is thats a sign but the past couple days she has slowed right down i dunno weather its her way of saying im on my way or its just her having a growth spert thats slowed her down! I think il just mention this to midwife as im seeing her monday and see what she has to say about it... thanks for your reply, but in myself with all the other signs i been having like feeling sick, diareah, stomach cramps, pains in lower abdomen, bad lower back pains, increased pressure below, more discharge than normal and funny twinges and period pain like feelings, i just think i wont go to my due date the 26th may! But like anyone around this far gone its just a waiting game now...getting so impatient just wanna meet our lil baby girl xXx Thanks again

I felt less movement in the couple of days leading up to my daughters birth. I dont know if it means labour is going to happen soon, or if it is to do with bub engaging or having less space to move or what though. I still felt her move, but not constant movements like she had done previsouly.

i was the same Laura, i just wanted to meet my little bubba and I kept telling her to hurry up!

Well i had midwife last week and she told me for the 1st time baby was 3/5 engaged when before she has always been free from brim,in the past 3-4 days iv noticed her quieten down so much still movements but nothing like she use to and i can feel i need to go loo nearly every hour and that she could be further down now in my pelvis so i have midwife tomorrow so will find out if shes anymore engaged, which i think she could be so maybe thats why she has quietened down more il just have to wait and see!! Yeah im always saying to her "hurry up and come out i wanna see my baby girl" but only 1 week and 6 days left till due date and i really think i wont be going as far as that just this instinct i have,if thats gonne happen or not is a different thing "fingers crossed" Thanks for your reply anyway, much appreciated! hope all is well with everyone anyway... xXx

apperently they start slowing down from about 36 weeks, as theres just not enough room for them to move anymore. I did however notice a major change in movements from about 38-39weeks, whichi thought meant labor was very near. I was 7 days over tho. So i guess u never know.
I hope u all have ur beautiful babies in ur arms asap
    Labor vibes to all!!!! xoxox
