Red face Are my feet coming back?!

Just wondering if anyone else experienced their feet getting wider during pregnancy, and whether that got better again after, or whether they had new feet to keep. Mine have always been quite wide, so that it's difficult to find shoes, and they are getting worse! I know this is relatively common in pregnancy, but I want to know is whether I'll be stuck this way now, or do you think they'll "shrink" a little after baby? Perhaps this is where the "barefoot and pregnant" expression comes from....? Can't get shoes that fit anymore!

LOL at "barefoot and pg"!! I was pg during summer mainly - luckily because I could only wear thongs from 16 weeks - and I mean EVERY day!!! I have wide feet too and carrying lots of fluid - to the point where my feet would indent and stay like that! Good look! Happy to say that one day not long after I got home from hospital I stared at my feet for a full day I think because I could see the bones in them again!! So yes it does pass!! Im actually about half a size bigger now I think but still fit into most of my old shoes!! Good luck!!

My feet spread a huge amount in my first PG and much to my horror never shrunk back to pre-preg size again! Though they did shrink a bit after DD was born, it still meant buying a whole new set of shoes. Haven't noticed any increase this PG though, which is good .

    Hi Cricket
Yes it is normal. It is cause by the extra fluid you now have in your body (up to about an extra 75%) and also the weight of your baby slowing the fluid return from your lower limbs. A couple of things you could try to ease the swelling is to put your feet up whenever you sit down. Go for a short walk every couple of hours. Raise the bottom of your bed so that your eet are higher than your hips.

Mine did go back again - I can't be sure that they went all the way back, but certainly they are better than they were when I was pg. Luckily though my feet were narrow to begin with so shoes probably fit better now for me LOL.
