I'm 38 weeks and was told last week that I was 1cm dilated and fully engaged. I was expecting to go into labour anytime. Today I was told that the baby has changed position and I'm no longer engaged! My ob isn't too concerened as the heart beat, size and amniotic fluid level is great. He reassured me that everything is fine but it feels a bit odd!
Is he sure you were fully engaged & starting to dilate? I was told that if you're fully engaged, then you're in labour and about to have the baby!?
Don't be too disheartened. Just think of it this way, you only have at the most 4 weeks left.
Being fully engaged doesn't mean a thing. Babies can go in and out of being engaged, my sil was engaged for 8 weeks before getting induced, but alot of babies don't even engage until mum is actually in labour.
Don't worry about it. It won't make a difference to when you go into labour.
