    is this normal??

I am currently 30 wks pg, I work in a pharmacy so stand up basically all day, I also use public transport to get to work and get home (about 1hr each way)

anyway the problem started last week, during the day at work I would be ok then as the day progressed I would get mmore and more uncomfortable, not that big of a problem, just made getting home a bit painfull and it would mainly be my swollen feet and sore achy legs that hurt.
then on monday I got up to go to work, as soon as I stepped on to my feet I had shooting pains in my legs and crampy feeling in lower abdo area, I jumped in shower and pains went away.
was fine until I got off the train and started walking to work (about 15mins walk) I felt this extreme pressure in my lower pelvic area, felt like I had to walk like a penguin , and really needed to pee, made it to a chair and sat down, seriously considered calling dp and getting him to come get me, but didnt, sat for about 10 mins then waddled on to work.
after a toilet trip, felt a little better, pressure was eased a little, but not much, after an hour standing I was almost in tears, I felt like my all my fanny bones were stretching or something, but excruciatingly painfull waddled around till lunch when I could sit for an hour then after that I was ok
Is this normal?? someone has suggested that bub could be engaging but I thought it was a bit early for that.
I am leaving work on the 30th of this month, would have liked to work longer but obviously, its just getting too painfull and im worried I may do something to negatively impact on bub.
did anyone else have anything like this?? Is it just cos I am standing up for too long??

It does sound as if bub has moved down and putting pressure on your hips. I know that I'm already waddling around like a duck. It could also be that relaxin is been released to loosen you joints up preparing your body for birth.

Not alot you can do about the pain except maybe some panadol if really bad and lots of warm showers.

    hugs xoxo

    Hi hun

I agree, alot of first time bubbas engage really early - like from 28 weeks is not exceptionally unusual. Sounds like that is where bubs is sitting for you.

So many aches and pains to deal with during pg and when you have to stand up for long periods of time it can make it all so much more painful.

Could be SPD where your pelvis shifts around, it is very common and there are varying degrees of severity you can get a pelvic belt which will help. Also it could be bubbas head pressing on a nerve or it could just be your ligaments stretching and everything opening up ready for birth.

    Good luck

What you have discribed is very normal. Bub is getting heavy and your pelvic bones are getting ready for birth. Your body has heaps of prolactin atm which relaxes your ligaments and muscles and any pressure can cause discomfort in your pelvic area.

The law of gravity would suggest that standing for extended periods will put pressure on your body. Try and put your legs up during your breaks and as soon as you get home from work
