not using RLT &/ EPO??

As you know I am taking RLT and EPO but I am starting to question why I am actually doing it. It seems to just be another thing that I need to spend money on....

Women give birth all the time, its part of nature. Our bodies are meant to give birth and I guess we dont really need these herbal remedies do we?!

Im kinda torn on what to do, but good on you for doing it the old fashioned way!!

I think it's just a personal choice, some women see it as 'it can't hurt', personally it's my attitude, if it means 10 minutes off labour I'm up for that.

Each body is different some women would swear by it, some women will say it didn't make a difference.

And your right, women have been having babies for a long time, our bodies are meant to do it, just some feel they would benefit from a little help, and some women see these natural remedies as being that extra help. And some women are confident with their own bodies enough to just let things happen.

I agree. I didn't take anything the first time (well I started taking RLT at 38wks but it didn't seem to do anything), but this time, I just thought I would give it a go in the hopes that I won't go too far overdue again....If it helps, it helps, if it doesn't, it doesn't, I am not bothered and it really can't hurt me.

You are not missing out on anything nor are you doing anything wrong by not taking either!! You do what you want to do!!

Heya Nicky, I'm also not using any EPO or RLT...I asked my ob about either of these 'helpers' at my last appt, and he said he had no problem with me taking them, but he basically didn't give them a lot of merit. My bub will come when she's ready - my ob is a low intervention type of guy, so I'm not stressed that if I hit my due date, that he's going to start talking inductions.

As I get closer to term, I'll be doing things the old fashioned way like yourself I'm sure David won't mind *lol*

Girls, RLT does not induce labour, that is why it is recommended to be taken from 27 weeks. It is used to prepare the uterus for labour, strengthening the uterine muscles allowing for more effective contractions, 'when' your body is ready to begin the birthing process. Hopefully Alan will pop in and provide some more information.

People that are taking RLT in the hope of inducing labour are wasting their time.

I took it from 27 weeks with my DD, and didn't go into labour until 39w4d, my labour was quick and lasted 6 hours.
