Few questions:
1. How long after you were induced did you actually give birth?
16 hours, i was given 2 doses of gel. and monitored. i also wasnt dilated at all, i was enduced for pre eclampsia.
2. Once you had the gel on did you also have your waters broken or did they wait a bit?
my waters wernt broken, that happened after 14 hours of labour and no progression and i got my epidural and they spontaiously ruptured, think my body relaxed i was very nervous and in alot of pain.
3. How bad is it really having waters broken?
have been told as painfull as an internal. but i didnt get mine.
i can say the contractuions were hard and fast from the begining but i was able to shower and rock through them till exhaustion set in at 2 am.
1. How long after you were induced did you actually give birth? 18hrs... I was induced for PE and instead of the gel I had the 24hr tape inserted as my cervix wasn't ripe enough for the gel. 2. Once you had the gel on did you also have your waters broken or did they wait a bit? They were supposed to check dilation 24hrs later, but I started contracting 6 hours later and my waters broke by themselves in the bath during labour 3 hours before she was born 3. How bad is it really having waters broken? Can't comment, mine broke by themselves which I was grateful for!
It was a hard and fast pregnancy (apparently this can happen with inductions)... I was considered to be in established labour at 11pm and she was born at 3am. I just used gas for pain relief (although I begged them for everything else, including a c section lol)
Good Luck tomorrow!!! Sleep as much as you can tonight, you'll need your strength!
Congratulations and Good luck on your pending birth very exciting!
1. How long after you were induced did you actually give birth?
22hrs but i was 1 wk early and cervix was no where near ready 2. Once you had the gel on did you also have your waters broken or did they wait a bit?
I had tape put on my cervic and contractions started straight away, went down to labour ward 6hrs later, straped onto the moniter then 2hrs later they put the drip on and 2hrs after that they broke my waters. 3. How bad is it really having waters broken?
I have had this done twice and didnt find it the bad, a little uncomfy but not painful.
1. How long after you were induced did you actually give birth?
Broke waters and nothing happened (no contractions) for 4 hours. Drip went in and DS was born 2 hours and 29 mins later.
2. Once you had the gel on did you also have your waters broken or did they wait a bit?
No gel because because I was already 4 cms and cervix was soft.
3. How bad is it really having waters broken?
Wasn't painful for me. But it was weird feeling how warm they were but apart from that no pain.
