This is very common. It is caused by a hormone called relaxin. Relaxin is designed to loosen all the joints and ligaments of your body in preparation for birth. In the centre of your pubic bone is a joint. When this joint becomes loose under the influence of relaxin the ends of the joint can and usually do rub against each other. This for some women can be a painful as a broken bone
