    Question Panadine Forte..

    there,

I am almost 28 weeks pregnant and havent been sleeping more then 2-3 hours a night due to back pain and stupid tingling feet because they are SO swallon!

My Ob gave me a script for Panadine Forte and to take one a night and they do just knock me out! But i havent felt baby move at all in 2 days now.. have they made her drousy? are they too strong? They were worried about her little movements as it was and sent me for a scan on Wed but i have to wait till Tues to find out whats going on!

Surely he wouldnt give me Panadine Forte if he was already worried about her movements that much?

Im just starting to stress, she has slowed down in movements alots in the past couple of weeks which i know is normal but i cant even make her move atm.

    thanks

If you've had no movements in the past 2 days, then I would be getting that checked out ASAP by the hospital. It is likely that the Panadene Forte has made her sleepy, but just to be on the safe side, get it checked out.

Hun firstly - if you really haven't felt her move at all in the last two days - get in the car and go to your care-giver or hospital and get you both checked out. Yes movements lessen when you get bigger with less room, but you should still feel them throughout the day.

Get an ice cold sweet drink, sit down and do nothing else but close your eyes for 20 mins, you should feel soemthing. If you still dont, please call at least and have a chat to a midwife.

Panadeine Forte shouldnt make bub drowsy as far as I am aware - and should be fine at this stage of preg for occasional use. Again, get checked out please.

    Good luck xx

Get straight on the phone and go and see your ob hun. I am of the understanding that Panadeine Forte is safe and I wouldn't think that it would make bub drowsy. Your ob should be able to send you for a CT trace to make sure everything is OK rather than making you wait for a scan - when I was worried late in my pregnancy this is what my ob did to reassure me. They did it the same day in the birthing suite, I went straight there from my obs office.

    All the best xo

    Hi Mrs James
1 Panadine Forte at night would not have any effect on your baby. I agree that if you have not had any movements in 2 days then go to the hospital

one of the reasons they do not give codiene during labour is teh fact it can supress bubs resp systems. Yes codiene can make bub drowsy however if u havent felt movements in 2 days call your ob/hospital asap!

if u dont feel at least 10 movements per day then u need to go to dr or hospital asap

i count my movements each day and if i dont get over 10 i would be very concerned.

she may be sleep from the tabs so i dont want to worry u but u would be stressing out and its not good for u or bubs...go to the hospital demand a scan so u have peace of mind then and there and dont need to wait for results

Had bub monitored and she moved the whole time.. as she usually does if im on the machine! which is good but makes me feel silly...

They said that the panadine forte has no affect on her at all...

But about her size the midwife said she felt fine but i will have to wait till i see my ob on tues, they cant be that worried then i guess? Makes me stress thought but we will see on tuesday.

She has been moving all weekend though so maybe just had a few off days!

Thanks for everyones support tho! Just wish she would make her appearance soon!! Im getting to that tired and over it point!
