    Period pain?

For the last half an hour or so Ive been getting mild period pain.. some pain down my legs and a little pain in my lower back. Is this normal? Will it go away? The pain feels like when AF is coming. A little achey in the schmagina too :/

Is the pain coming with any regularity? Try resting and see if it goes away. If the pain increases, becomes regular, or there is any fluid loss or bleeding then please see your midwife. If not it's probably just braxton hicks getting a bit stronger.

Yeah thats how a lot of people's labour starts, so keep an eye on the pains, see if they are are coming in any sort of pattern and for any certain amount of time. Rest up and see if they go away. Take panadol if it is too annoying and see if that helps.

And most of all - ring your middie if you are worried!!!

That's what my BH's felt like and it's exactly what my labours felt like too.

Keep an eye on it, if it gets worse or more regular ring the hospital.

Do you have a pressure type feeling down below? Do you feel like you have to perch on the edge of the chair/lounge? I'd definitely keep a close eye cos my last labour started with the AF feeling like you're describing. That's not to say that's what is going on with you though. Are you having any tightening type feelings across your belly and has bub dropped at all?

    Lara, she's 33wks 4 days.

:yeahthat: That's what the start of labour felt like to me, and last week's pains felt like a weaker version of it...

My MW told me to take panadol and lie down and if that didnt help it then to call the birth suite.

Have a lie down Ahurani and if they keep coming then I think you should probably call the hospital just to be safe

hard on and off or all the time? Are you getting anything like what would feel a bit like doing sit ups I guess...where your abs get drawn into yourself... does that make sense? Contractions usually feel different to BH in my experience. BH didn't feel so much like the muscles being pulled in like sucking your tummy in.

I cant comment on what contractions feel like in the front as all mine were in my back. Hopefully they are just BH.

My contractions were always in my groin, thighs, and down my legs.

Thats how my labour started to. Agree with PP's. Go lie down and take a panadol, if they stay regular and/or more painful, call the hospital.
