    Period Pain, Braxton Hicks?

    Hi All

    Im 28 weeks.

On Saturday I had some mild period type pain in the front (kind of like my ovaries were aching) for 20mins or so. Then an hour or 2 later I had some internal aching (like a really heavy period where the walls of your uterus ache) that lasted for 30-40mins. Another couple of hours later I had the ovary ache again for 10mins. It wasnt distressing just uncomfortable. I woke up Sunday morning with the ovary ache again that only lasted 10mins but could of been longer I was asleep.

Nothing else Sunday but again Monday mid morning at work I noticed the ovary ache again, it only lasted 15mins or so. I commented to my boss about it and she suggested Braxton Hicks. I thought I might of been to early for it. I havent had it since.

I had an appointment with my ob on Wednesday who also suggested it could be a UTI. Now Im worried, what was it and if it is an UTI will that bother the baby?

Im hoping you will all say it was Braxton Hicks lol.

    Thanks x

Hi! It could be braxton hicks. I had BH from very early on, about 20 weeks.....I'm surprised that if your OB thought it might be a UTI, why he/she didn't do a urine test? Are you having pain when peeing? UTI's won't hurt baby. I'd get it checked out though because if a UTI is left for a long time, it can end up as a kidney infection, which also doesn't affect baby but isn't fun for you. Good luck hun xx

Hope the results come back normal Braxton Hicks can be uncomfortable. They get a lot stronger towards the end. I thought I was in labour with DD2 at about 36 weeks, but nope just BH. They were that strong, it felt like the beginning of labour! That could have been because it was second time round though.....anyway, what I'm saying is, be prepared for them to get quite strong, but don't stress. They are just preparing your body for the real thingx
