    Is Bub #3 more unpredictable?

I have been getting little comments from others as well as my Ob about #3 being unpredictable. Is this so?

Im not sure whats more frustrating, waiting for the positive result or waiting for contractions to start .

Ive been saying to my Ob for the last 3 weeks that im sure im going to go early with no sign of disagreeing so ive assumed he agreed with me but obviously he cant commit to a yes on that sort of thing. In saying all that though he has never told me that bub is actually engaged and now im due.

My cervix seems high (higher than norm) but soft, im always getting back aches and never did with the other 2 so thats something new for me. I thought last friday that things were happening because i had consistant cramping for and hour and half but they actually felt more like i needed to go to the loo but didnt, iykwim. The top of my placenta is really painful at night, more so when lying on my left side. This is another thing i never got with the other 2. Bub is constanty moving in and out of my pelvic area even this late. Again, i didnt get this with the other 2. Ive had increased CM but that was a few weeks ago.

It seems this kid does whatever it wants and not what its supposed to be doing Lol. She was breech at 37wks but then turned for the next app. My ob said #3 wont necessarily come early and that its not abnormal for it not to be engaged yet. WHY????????
If everything is so loose in there due to 2 other kids living in there then i would of thought there wouldnt be much holding it up, so this would force it down, not up hey.

For those of you who have had bub #3, what was different compared to the first 2. Ive even got DD now saying to me 'i want my little sister out now'. To cute. She wont be thinking that when she is constantly woken at night like the rest of us Lol.

Im going mental waiting so just ignore me if you like.

I unfortunatley cant answer your questions... my only child was way to early LOL...

Wishing you all the best & I hope your wee girl is listening & pops out to see her siblings really soon...

At least she was kind enough to turn around for you in time

Thanks for that Jelvie, I do like to know all the good and bad.
I think the only thing i can be confident in knowing is labour and delivery will be short.

I think this bub is small to because my dates are a week behind and ive heard the smaller the bub the harder the delivery. Plus DS was smaller than DD so im prepared there i suppose.

Its good to hear that bub #3 fit in with everyone. I cant say ive had any trouble with these two but the nights do worry me, i dont want the other two woken but its enevitable (s) that it will happen.
Thanks for your reply, it does help.

My teacher Rhea (been around birth for over 26 years, over 1000 births) always calls baby #3 the baby of mystery! Maybe there is something in that The baby which outnumbers the parents

Oh Lol Kelly, thats reassuring....not.. Little monkeys.
I think she knows its winter and to damn cold to come out atm.

I was saying to a friend the other day though that im prepared to go as far as 42wks with her and no intervention so she better not be the only bub that needs help to come out either, that will be the next thing, ill get to 42 weeks and need to be induced. Crap that!

For me, my third bub was my longest PG. It was also the most uncomfortable in relation to SPD and I had lots more pre labour. Size wise he was the same weight as Mason but was 1 1/2 cm longer, so technically the biggest

It was frustrating because I never thought third time around I'd be looking at induction. I didn't want to be induced but at the same time I was so over it and I also had everyone hassling the hell out of me telling me that this didn't happen the other times...we der I think I remember what it was like too ya know

Labour was also different once it got going. It could have been the s&s that day or it could have been going to happen anyway but once I knew it was the real thing then it was a very short but intense labour of about 90mins. The others seemed to build up at a less intense pace even though I was only in full on labour with Angus for 2 hours.

My ob said #3 wont necessarily come early and that its not abnormal for it not to be engaged yet. WHY????????
Because there is a bit more room for bubba to play about in this time around I guess

ohhhh Kerrie - I am hearing you hun!

I am really worried ( as Kelly well knows!) that this bub is going to be sooooo unpredictable and I am also really worried about going over for the first time, however having said that, 2 weeks ago I could have sworn that I was going to go early.

I can't wait to read all about it hun, so be sure to update us asap!!!! lol

I completely agree with Kelly. At work (I'm a student midwife) it is always the third baby that throws a spanner in the works. It is either completely different to the other two and are the hardest labours or they absolutely shoot out. I am the third baby and my mum went into hospital and they told her to have a sleep overnight as I won't be coming anytime soon and then 1/2 hours they checked on mum and my head was almost out.
Don't want to alarm you though. Good luck.

Well once again missy made me think things were happening yesterday, even to the point that i dragged my hospital bags around in the car for the day just in case. But alas im still here.
My contractions have always started and kept going, none of this stop start crap . Arrrrgggghhhhh!!!!! I have noticed though through the night that she has been scooching down abit. Im over holding my breath waiting now, im going to pass out Lol.

Nurse Dan, i think thats probably the only thing im prepared for (quick delivery). DD was a 9 hour labour and DS was 3 hours so once im confident its starting then im off to mums with the kids as she is 10 min from the hospital. DS was a 6min delivery so im not going to stuff around with this one. Thankfully my deliverys are hassle free so im staying positive that this will be the same. Gee i wish i could come in here and say woohoo its all happening now. Lol, i dont think though that once it starts ill have time to boot the computer up. Never mind. FionaJill will let you all know, shes hanging for my txt .

I had much worse BH with #3, he was induced at 37wks 4 days cause of PIH as was #1 but he rushed out in 3 hours and was black and blue when he was born. Having said that #3 is a joy and much more relaxed than the first 2 but I never know whether thats birth order or the different sex.
