Calm birthing? Anyone tried it or recommend it?

Hi guys I'm 30 weeks preggo with my first & pretty unsure bout the whole experience. I'm into my yoga and feel like this calm birthing might be a great option to mentally prepare myself.
I have read the thread on here of funny birthing stories, which was great and a nice relief from my silly idea of watching "one born every minute" !!eeek

    Any advice/opinions would be awsome.
    Thankyou!

I loved doing calmbirth for my second child. It was/has been an amazing experience and complements well with yoga techniques and philosophy (power to the calm breath etc etc).

Feel free to read my DD2s birth story (it has a link in my signature!)...i mention the calmbirthing stuff in there

P.S. what i loved most about doing the classes was the information on how the body works together during labour and birth: this is information that proved invaluable and that was not readily available in other places.

Thank you so much! i will check out your story and I will keep looking into the calm birthing experience. It certainly can't hurt to be armed with lots of mental tools

We did Calmirth classes for Dd's birth and found it really helpful. Especially good for partners to know how to really support you during labour

Heard great things about most if these style birthing practices.
I'm not good with pain and have 3kids. The practices really helped me to be in as much control as I could.
    Defiantly worth checking out

We did the course & found the techniques taught very useful. Apart from the techniques it was also a very empowering course for myself & DH. It gives DH and I 'guidelines' as to how he can support me when it counts most. Being the first birth for us we didn't know what to expect so that was great. Have a great birth! :-)
