Had contractions start around 8.30 pm last night which were regular with a slight increase in regularity over 1.5 hours so rang the hospital. They were annoying more than painful, but that was much the same as with DD2 until things got very intense very quickly at the end. Got told to take a warm bath and call them back an hour later. Called back to say they were still there and increasing a little in regularity and strength. So, given the speed of DD2's arrival and our distance to the hospital got told to come in. Midnight by this point so had to get my poor folks out of bed to come over to stay with the girls.
Arrived at hospital and after initial monitoring told yep, they're contractions all right. 6.5 #*@&ing hours later nothing. Nada. Zilch. Zip. No change in my cervix, contractions easing off until nothing at all from about 6am onwards. Now home after an exhausting sleepless night. No indication that I should expect anything soon, but similarly given the length of time they continued for told it could be not much longer now. Can't take the risk of not going to hospital again if the same thing happens so starting to seriously consider an induction so that its just over and done with. Have an appointment with my OB tomorrow so will discuss it in more detail with him then.
I really wish I was the relaxed "she'll come when she's ready" person I was with DDs 1 and 2. Not sure how much more anxiety I can take![]()

Hoping everything starts very soon for you.
:-( bugger chick. I had a few days of pre-labour and it is truly exhausting and emotionally draining. I hope things ramp up and you get to meet your little one really soon. Rest as much as possible in the meantime
Awww lulu i hope you meet your princess soon. Yes prelabour sux.
Prelabour absolutely sux hun so sending you massive hugs. Go take advantage of your DH and don't forget to tweak your nipples tooGet that oxytocin raging so you can text me that your princess is here
Best of luck hun and have everything crossed that you have a beautiful amazing birth![]()
Lulu, it drags on, doesn't it. But it's all doing something! My m/w told me to ignore it as much as possible and get on with my usual business.
I had two days of pre labour and then the established labour lasted less than three hours. I really think all that preparation got me to half way dilated and the rest was smooth sailing. I also didn't find the contractions painful. I tend to call it early labour, rather than pre labour, because it's all labour (ie your body working!), it just doesn't fit the charts they like to fill out!
Lots of mine was less than one minute apart and lasting a minute too.
Hope it happens soon!
As much as comments like that would normally make you R's favourite person in the whole world, I don't think either of us have the energy to take our clothes off, let alone anyone taking advantage of anyone ;-)
*massive hugs*
remember, your cervix doesn't just dilate it does lots of other things too, it softens, and thins, and moves. And bub does stuff too, they move into a better position, and that is just the stuff we know! there is so many other bits going on too, both yours and bub's bodies go through changes in preparation!
so please don't be deflated. I know it is frustrating. but it will happen!!
I know how you feel. It's been going on for weeks for me, now I'm booked for a induction on Sunday. I went to the hospital today cervix still closed and high, I thought everything would be ready to go with the pains ect i have been getting. It knocked me when they said nothing happening, I just wanted to sit and cry. I hope your bub decides to come soon.
