    Q about loosing the plug?

Ok I feel a bit silly asking this but when you loose your mucus plug (am guessing this is the same as a show?) does it usually have blood in it?? Just asking as I think i may have lost some of mine but there was no blood and everything I've read usually refers to it as a "bloody show"....

Not always. With my DS, mine came away slowly over a few weeks and I was told it can regenerate. It was different to my normal cm at the time, thicker and gloopier, kinda yellowish, lol!! It didn't always have blood in it, but sometimes it did, sometimes just streaky bits, sometimes a pinkish tinge, sometimes a fair bit bloodier, but not always.

I wish I could help you, but I can't - I never lost my plug But I have heard that it can have blood in it - I read it when I was trying to find stuff to expect before labour

Thanks for the replies, from what you girls have said i'm pretty sure it was part of my plug, hopefully it means things are going to start happening soon I was getting mild cramps but they seem to have stopped completely.

Boo- If you wanted to keep things 'going', I used Evening Primrose Oil Tablets, and put them in my 'lady hole'.

Dansta- hehehehe. The jellyfish was the only way I could think of describing it.

does evening primrose actually work? I had someone give it to me years ago for period pains to keep them under control but found that they actually made things so much worse every period that I only took them for a short while. Hang, if it works for labour, I'm there!!!

I had the common lost plug that was bloody with my DD but this last pregnancy had very thick and cloudy mucous for 2 wks, that was my plug coming away.

Bridg - I've been taking EPO orally but haven't been game enough to try it "down there"! I had an Ob appointment yesterday and he said my cervix was medium to firm. Maybe it might be worth me giving it a go....

Harleysgirl - What you've explained is what has been happening to me, then yesterday I had a big "glob" of it

Smallfryplus- Yep, it worked for me. On a Friday night, I had some twinges, so put an EPO in. Went to bed. Contractions kept me awake. Didn't put one in on the Saturday. Had bubs Saturday night.

Boo- It's not as bad as I thought when using it 'down there'. Just make sure to put a pad on.

Hey Boo it's not too late to join us in the 1-15 Feb belly buddies thread, one of the girls lost her plug a few days ago so is in the same boat as you, I'm sure she'd love to discuss the finer details of it as you go!

Bridg - I tired the EPO last night, has deffinately done something have been having mild cramping all day and have had about 3 shows today. Think i'll leave it now and just wait and see - have one more week until Ob wants to interviene

My plug was just mucousy - kind of like the 'jellyfish' that a couple of pp's have mentioned!

With regards to EPO - do you just put the whole capsule in? Or do you do something with it first? I'm thinking of giving it a go this time, didn't bother with DD. When can you start using it?
