Question about the 'show' and CM

Hi everyone,

Hoping this isnt a TMI question but I'll ask anyway

Does your show have to blood streaked?

The reason I am asking is - I have been experiencing alot of CM today, it has been coming out in blobs but has no blood in it - its more an opaque colour. Is it my show or just increased CM?

I am booked in for an induction on Friday and would love to beat it so I am analyzing EVERTHING....

hi ubba, I remember after being sent home the first time from hospital, when I thought my water broke, they did the internal and a test to see if it had, then told me it hadnt and was probably just mucus....ewwww, there was ALOT of it!!!I mean, I thought my water broke!
on the way home I started having contractions (was in pre labour) and I had a shower, when I got out the shower I wiped and had a big gelatinous glob of jelly like stuff on my towel which had no blood in it, when I sat on the bed and then got back up, there was anothr one on the bed (this is so gross, but you did ask! ) this time it had what looked like old blood in it and it was almost a perfect circle shape!
later on that night (more cxs) i had a bath and when I got out there was lots of gobby gooey stuff in the water....it continued like that, I never saw any more blood.
Your body is getting ready hun, ride with it, it will happen soon enough!

Hi Ubba,

With DS mine was (sorry TMI) more like a big thick opaque lump of yellowish snot with a couple of tiny streaks of blood in it, but I've read that it can be like extra thick CM discharge over several days. I don't think it has to be bloody. My waters broke 2 days after I lost my plug and contractions started straight away.

i have experienced both, i too thought my waters were leaking after getting loads of watery mucous but 2 days later i started getting my show which didnt have much blood at all in it but was tinted a browny type colour. most of the time increased mucous is a sign of the cervix softening so sounds like things are getting close

It sounds like your plug is coming out

i never had blood in mine, it was all clear.. i got an internal done @ 39weeks and i got blood streaked mucus come out.
