Question for my friend who is due in 12 days

Hey girls

Well my friend is due to have her first bub in 12 days and the midwife said bub is 4/5 engaged, shes not quite sure if that means they can only feel like a 1/5 of its head or the other way around...Hope i've made sense. She really would love bub to come any day now, but as we all know, bubs will come when they are ready!

No, I believe it means that they can feel 4/5 of the head .... lucky girl! My DS was was 4/5 engaged for 3 weeks though so it could still be a little while.

engaged .... so 4/5ths to me would mean 1/5 IYKWIM

its a bit confusing hey. i thought it means she is at station 4 which means she has 3,2,1 to go until engaged. ?

It depends on how the midwife classes it... some say 4/5 well you only have 1 to go, and others say 4/5 so you need to get to 3,2,1... She'll have to ask the midwife.

Tell her not to stress though because some bubs are still floating when labour starts.
