No, I believe it means that they can feel 4/5 of the head .... lucky girl! My DS was was 4/5 engaged for 3 weeks though so it could still be a little while.

its a bit confusing hey. i thought it means she is at station 4 which means she has 3,2,1 to go until engaged. ?

It depends on how the midwife classes it... some say 4/5 well you only have 1 to go, and others say 4/5 so you need to get to 3,2,1... She'll have to ask the midwife.
Tell her not to stress though because some bubs are still floating when labour starts.

Wow, I didnt realise there was so many variations. My Ob definitely said that 4/5 was close to birthing but could still be a week or two away but when I just looked up the textbook just then, it agrees with you other girls but apparantly that is the British version which is opposite to us ???
Maybe ask the midwife next time.... interesting!
