Post Really Fed Up with It All

    Hi All
Im just having a vent really. Im nearly 38 weeks and am over all of it. I can't sleep much at night as I can only sleep on my sides and I wake up every hour with numb legs or sore hips. Im having very strong and regular Braxton Hicks that don't hurt but are uncomfortable. My back hurts more frequently and even sitting can be uncomfortable. Im getting to the point were I am so desperate for a bit of sleep and relief I want to ask my OB if she can induce me.

    Is this really normal?

Hi there - Oh yes it's really normal unfortunately!! By 38 weeks you are not only tired of being uncomfortable but also impatient to meet your baby, one thing is certain however, you won't be pregnant forever!!

If I knew then what I knew now I woulda been SLEEPING every chance I got lol. I'm sure your OB will only induce you if they feel it is the right thing to do for you & your baby so good luck with whatever happens & your impending birth!!

i also know exactly how you are feeling i was told due to my age and the fact that this is bub number 6 there was no way i would carry to term, well here i am 38.3 weeks along and after finding out he is breech and that yes i can have a vaginal birth however they will not induce me and will let me go to 42 weeks and as i have gone 1 or 2 weeks over with the rest i feel like i will be pregnant forever lol.

Its totally normal to feel that way. I ended up going 5 days over. I was so big I actually put on 30 kg!! Bub was nearly 5 kgs tho. I could hardly sleep waking up with numb side as well. My ankles were that swallon I felt like michelin man.

Dont worry, chin up! It will all be over soon and u will be holding a precious new baby in your arms and it will all be worth it.

    Hi,

I know this is the last thing you want to hear but try to enjoy the last few weeks before bubs arrives savour ever kick and having that beautiful big belly. Take the time to take some beautiful pics of you with you belly even if you just get a friend to do it, buy a belly cast off ebay and make that up...I really wish I had of done that, take baths with some candles and music get a preg massage because ewven though it feels like forever once that bubs is out you will never again experience them kicking you in painful and uncomfortable ways again and looking back you pregnancy will feel like only a second in time!

I definitely miss that undesribable and awe filled experience of being pregnant! and I was vomitting at least 20 times a day for 26weeks and then got gd at 28weeksand ended up on 4insulin shots a day and I still miss it

I have 4 sleeps till my EDD.....I am at the point where I wonder if this bubs will ever come out. He can't come today as its DS#2s birthday but after that I am all for this bubba making an appearance .

For me this is my 4th and last baby so I appreciate the kicks and I love my tummy....but yes I am in some pain and discomfort and would like to get bubs out, although I feel no where ready for the pain .

I have just hit the 'I am over this' in the last two days. I am sick of the heat - I am in Adelaide. I still have another week and a half until my hubby comes down, it's been a week and a half since I have seen him. It is the longest we have ever had apart. My left leg is aching - courtesy of the vein I can see running down the back, not to mention the cramps I get if I even think about pointing my toes. My belly feels tight and uncomfortable, with a few sore spots, made worse by a bum stretching it. I now feel refluxy too courtesy of the not hot butter chicken for tea. Plus I just want my baby. I am starting to remember all the horror stories too, so that makes you worry.

I know I can't go into labour just yet, but come Easter Sunday when DH arrives it will be 'game on'. I have served baby with a two weeks notice eviction. I swear I am going nuts.

It seems this is pretty common, I was reading somewhere that you need to be 'over it' to go into labour. I really do hope it works.

Sorry for the big whinge, but I know you girls know how I feel

Luey - I know what you mean about the heat.. I'm in SA too. No air con either!

I'm not quite at the 'over it' stage, but I am looking forward to meeting bubs... got lots to do before it comes though but because of the heat (and I only finished work last week) I haven't managed to get it all done yet!

I'm sure when I start to get sick of myself, it will be nice to come in here and vent! Nice to know you're not alone...

Chin up everyone - in a month or 4 we'll all look back and smile!

Macca, hun, I was exactly the same. I was totally over it toward the end and was induced at 40w + 3d.

Get used to the sleepless nights though...I used to take my sleep for granted until Madeleine came along. Man, I have never been so tired but it's worth every second only to see them every day! And I wouldn't change it for the world mind you. She's now sleeping 10pm-6am which is heaven.

I really hope you can get sleep before your little one comes along, sleep all day if you can! LOL

Good luck with everything, I know how you feel!

hey macca im exactly the same as well hun plus i keep waking at 330am every morning the midwife reckons its my body clock getting ready for the baby feed time.

i know this might sound wierd so dont worry if u laugh my whole family did, but go try buy a yoga ball the other night i couldnt sleep so i grabbed my full body pilow and my ball and lied on my side on the pillow with my legs propped up on the ball i also se the bal to lay my head on it so its propped up and lay the rest of my body on the pillow. I found also with really bad leg cramps in the middle of the night to sit on the ball but place our head on your pillow on the bed.
If that doesnt work my friend said she used to sleep in the bath and was really comfy (i had to laugh at her on that one lol)

    Hope they help

Thanks for the support and advice everyone.

I have to say that I feel better knowing that I'm not alone in feeling this way. I have found that if I don't sleep during the day then i have a better sleep at night. DH has been great and rubs my hip when it starts to hurt at 3 am though I know his sleep is suffering too. I feel like Im just 'filling in time' till bub comes. I wish I could speed things up though.

    Hi Macca,

Sweetie, I was exactly the same. Had really bad ligament tearing so was in so much pain with that; back pain; restless legs; itchy hands and feet; HEARTBURN like you wouldn't believe and the list goes on. BUT, now I miss being pregnant so much. I know I wished it away and was always saying "I am so over being pregnant", and now I realise how lovely it was and I do really miss it. I might be a freak and am probably on my own in feeling this way. I love my baby so much, but I really wish I had rested more while I had the chance (even though at the time it felt impossible to even sit let alone lay down). My point is, try to rest, relax and enjoy the last few weeks (you will be saying, yeah right!) but I am just saying TRY to do this, because your world will never be the same again when bubs finally arrives.

Oh, I also was looking forward to sleeping on my belly.............not happened yet. If you are planning to breastfeed like me, it is IMPOSSIBLE to sleep on them. It hurts too much lol!! So am still waiting for that lovely sleep I have dreamed about for so many months.

Good luck with the last of your pregnancy Macca and I hope it doesn't drag on too long for you.

    xxx Nita

OK - I'm joining you girls now... I'm almost over being pregnant. stupidly though I want some energy back and I know that when the little tyke comes along that is SOO not going to happen!

It's almost like I'm tired of things being about the same and am looking forward to a change (that is so going to bite me in the *ss).... Doesn't logically make sense, but it's how I'm feeling
