    Requesting an induction???

    Hi all,

Well today is Dr's appt day. At 11.15. Does anyone know whether they will induce someone on mental grounds. I suffer pretty full on depression and panic attacks. At the moment, I can not increase my anti-depression meds due to me being pregnant, and I am on Zoloft after being taken of Luvox, as Zoloft is safer in pregnancy. The Zoloft isn't nearly as effective as the Luvox was and I have extreme black thoughts, and dreams. I can not currrently take anything for my panic attacks due to me being pregnant either, and at the moment, I can not even go to the shops by myself.
I snap all the time, and the poor kids are copping it. I scream at them and then I cry because I feel bad but I just can't seem to stop myelf from doing it.

As I have mentioned in other posts aswell, I am extremely exhausted all the time aswell.

I just don't think I can last out the next 2-3wks.

    Thanks in advance

I was on Zoloft when i was PG with Chelsea and they refused to induce me...i was just monitored on a weekly basis at the hospital and Gp... id get a call every week as well. Then when DD was here i was seen at least 2 times a day in hospital. I felt like a royal nut, but it helped me get thru it.

    All the best

Isiss, you poor thing, what a challenge. But on the other hand - you've done amazingly well to get to 37 weeks so far, what a fantastic achievement! I work with someone with major depression so I'm familiar with the moods and feelings they describe, sounds a lot like what you are feeling. Every day is hard work, but you are doing it - and again, well done.

You didn't mention if you've got someone you can talk to about these feelings as well as medication - such as a counsellor, psychologist, psychiatrist etc? Perhaps while you can't change or increase your medication some talking therapy will at least help to divert your 'snapping' at someone else rather than the kids? If there isn't anyone then Lifeline are always there to listen on the phone if all else fails.

Please look after yourself, and I hope either you go early naturally, or you manage to get up every day and breathe in and out til the day's done, and get closer to your due date.

Isiss, I am sure they would take that into consideration. One thing though to think about is coping after the birth - that is obviously going to involve sleep deprivation and hormones too, so it may still put you in the same place. I hope you have a good support network after the birth, and if you need some resources, please let us know. All the best hon.
