when you go to bed at night wear no knickers and dry the area well.Apply a thick layer of zinc cream (sudocream, zinc and castor oil cream etc) then over over the top with curash power or cornpower/cornstarch.

It should be GREATLY improved by morning.

    Always worked for me :-)

Stevie that sounds really uncomfortable! I get that sometimes in summer too - down in Adel at the moment I am more likely to get chill blains than chaffing.

One thought is are you wearing a panty liner to reduce the sweatyness down there? In pregnancy we get more fluid and swollen down there and panty liners help with that. Sorry, not something I would normally ask a woman I dont even know!

Also, can you wear shorts or loose cotton trousers to reduce the contact between your thighs? It will still rub but not so much if it isnt skin to skin.

There are some products around for chaffing too - creams and talc's that you could check out for use during pregnancy. I guess you want to get on to it pretty quick as its only going to get hotter.

    Good Luck!

I used to chafe so bad it was like giant cavernous holes in my thighs. Makes me cringe thinking about it.

Whatever you do DO NOT apply any type of antiseptic unless you want to burn so bad you wish your legs would fall off. LOL I speak from experience.

I know how you feel <<hugs>>

Definitely use cornstarch powder - you can get it in a J&J version next to the baby talc at the supermarket. I personally avoid curash and similar because it contains talc which is a known carcinogen. But a pure cornstarch is safe and effective.

    Curash also does one.

At the supermarket, Herron brand Zinc and Castor Oil is WAY cheaper than the 'other' brands of baby zinc/rash cream. :-)

Desitin nappy rash cream or ZSC powder always works for me.

It wierd how things effect people people differently.

I sometimes suffered from chaffing during the summer if it was really hot and agree it is uncomfortable. I used to just used plenty of talc at night (and also have some in my desk at work during the day) to dry area out and found this worked. Certainly didn't know that talc was a carcinogen?

With increased discharge had started wearing panty liners but this just seemed to increase the amount I was sweating down there which in turn caused chaffing. Ahhhhhhh

Found the wearing trousers definitely cuts it down though so perhaps look to get a nice pair of loose cotton or linen trousers which will be cooler in hotter weather rather than wearing skirt/dress?

I get chafing pretty badly when exercising and use a product called 3B (Breasts, Buttocks, Between the thighs) which you can get from the chemist. It is fantastic but check for use in pregnancy as I can't confirm if it is ok.

Oh hun, I know how you feel - I'm a chronic chafer and I'm already getting it because the weather's warmed up so much.
My best advice - go knickerless as much as humanly possible and make baby powder/cornstarch your new best friend. I found creams etc made it worse for me, baby powder/Curash was the best treatment for me personally.
If you're not into wearing shorts but want to go commando, try wearing long, loose skirts (eg peasant/gypsy-style) so you don't have to worry about them hiking up or a breeze catching them

Good luck, I know you're probably already feeling uncomfy enough without the added pain of raw skin in the bikini area Hope you can get rid of it soon!

I was going to recommend Sudocrem aswell. I've found it works great.

Stevie, I've been getting the same thing for quite a while myself - all I do is sleep without underwear and do what most ladies said - cream on the affected area and then curash
Good luck with getting rid of it!
