when you go to bed at night wear no knickers and dry the area well.Apply a thick layer of zinc cream (sudocream, zinc and castor oil cream etc) then over over the top with curash power or cornpower/cornstarch.

It should be GREATLY improved by morning.

    Always worked for me :-)

I suffered terribly from chafe when i was younger and that was the only combo that helped me!

GL hope it clears up soon

Stevie that sounds really uncomfortable! I get that sometimes in summer too - down in Adel at the moment I am more likely to get chill blains than chaffing.

One thought is are you wearing a panty liner to reduce the sweatyness down there? In pregnancy we get more fluid and swollen down there and panty liners help with that. Sorry, not something I would normally ask a woman I dont even know!

Also, can you wear shorts or loose cotton trousers to reduce the contact between your thighs? It will still rub but not so much if it isnt skin to skin.

There are some products around for chaffing too - creams and talc's that you could check out for use during pregnancy. I guess you want to get on to it pretty quick as its only going to get hotter.

    Good Luck!

I used to chafe so bad it was like giant cavernous holes in my thighs. Makes me cringe thinking about it.

Whatever you do DO NOT apply any type of antiseptic unless you want to burn so bad you wish your legs would fall off. LOL I speak from experience.

I know how you feel <<hugs>>

Definitely use cornstarch powder - you can get it in a J&J version next to the baby talc at the supermarket. I personally avoid curash and similar because it contains talc which is a known carcinogen. But a pure cornstarch is safe and effective.

    Curash also does one.

At the supermarket, Herron brand Zinc and Castor Oil is WAY cheaper than the 'other' brands of baby zinc/rash cream. :-)

Desitin nappy rash cream or ZSC powder always works for me.
