Tasha - I too have bad back pain and have been in tears a few times. And it does feel like its in my kidneys. I have a spray from the chemist and it works a treat. Also a warm wheat bag helps. When I have been sitting down and go to get up I get stuck and it takes ages for me to take that first step. I have been tested for uti as some of the girls on here suggested it may be that, but was all clear. Good luck at your ob appt. Hopefully he can shed some light on it.

It's possible that you've pulled a muscle, or that your baby could even have dislocated a rib, but I think this is worth getting checked, since it could also be a kidney infection, which would need attention ASAP. Give your ob/midwife a call, or maybe just head into an urgent care clinic or something.
    All the best!

Thanks Vic and cricket. The house is a mess and all I can do is just sit here in pain Vic, I will ask the OB about that spray. I have wheat packs too. Cricket, a dislocated rib? Can that happen when pregnant!? Last night I had a really hot shower before bed and just let the water run on my back. But I still woke up in pain. Gosh I hope they can help me, this is definitely not fun

A friend of our family had big babies for her size, and one of them dislocated her rib with a good kick. OUCH! I think you'd know if you were carrying a baby that size, but anything is possible! Hope you can get a good answer and some relief soon!

    OMG! Ouch!

I have forced myself to get up and clean the kitchen and put some washing on and I feel a little better from moving about. It's just strange that it is in one specific area (flank kind of) and I haven't pulled any muscles. I googled kidney infections and it says back pain, frequent urination, fatigue etc. Wasn't helpful at all. I will keep an aye on it and ask my OB Thursday.

Definitely get it checked out. It could be a rolled rib. I get them in pregnancy, as all my bones seem to want to wander off in other directions. It's excruciating, but chiro helps. Do you know bub's position? I had it constantly with DS1 and it turns out his head was stuck under a rib, pushing it out of alignment.

That sounds delightful L&B! Bubs is head down, bum to the left and feet to the right. I hope she hasn't moved, doesn't feel like she has. I hope it eases, struggling today
