Unhappy Small fundalmental measurements at 35 weeks??

Is this something I should take seriously or worry bout ladies?

Saw my middy yesterday and she said I am only measuring 31cms......Everything up to here has been fine but it only took one midwife that I have never seen before to make me worry!

    Thanks in advance.x

your fundal height can change day by day, depends on how the baby is laying that particular day etc etc. I was always up to 6cm below my fundal height. At 35 weeks I would measure 29, so on and so forth. I had all 3 kids early, 2 by inducement the last naturally, and apart from being small when born 6lb, 6lb 7oz, and 5lb 13oz they were all healthy.

with my 3rd i didnt gain any fundamental length for 4 weeks (from 31 to 35weeks) and prior to that i was measuring at least 3cms behind
sometimes its how bubs is laying too
my bestie (pregnant at the same time) suddendly measured 3 weeks behind and had a check a week later and right on track it was how bubs was laying and this was in the last few weeks too
    hope this helps xoxo
my bubba was measuring small during U/S scans too (i had 6 all up, the last 4 done 19w, 27w, 32w and 36w he was measuring a week behind and small and i had one done a week prior to him being born) and he came out a healthy 3.33kgs(7.5lbs)

My DD consistently measured 2-3 weeks behind and was born 4kg (at 42 weeks admitedly). It's just a rough estimate and a few weeks here or there isn't a big deal. It can vary a lot depending o nthe baby's position.

Don't stress lovely! My midwife hasn't even gotten around to doing a fundal height yet - it is just a guide and isn't an overly accurate indication of what is happening with bub.

Thanks ladies.x Nice to know it is common and my uterus isn't being lazy, maybe just how it is for me at this time. Last u/s bub was 2kg so maybe she will be on the lighter side.

Curly - at 33 weeks my bubs was 1.88kg (about 32 weeks 2 days) but my fundal was 35. Fundal is a good rough guide, but is just that. Also if your bubs has shifted down into an engaged position, it'll shrink back too as far as I can tell?

My fundal is now 36 when I'm at 35 weeks, but thats with Peanuts head nudging my ribs...!

I got measured just before my c/s at 34 weeks (due to complications) and my fundal was only 24cm. DD was small, 1.6kg, but not the 1.1kg they predicted.
She was also breech. What position was bub in at your u/s?

I'm still waiting for an u/s but last time bub was head down (not engaged though). Maybe having a small bub is a positive Plus true, suppose the measurements aren't a sure thing.
