    Sore... and itchy - Help?

Ok, not so much itchy.... But I've got no idea where to ask and how to start it.

Alright, for the past week, I've started to get very sore 'down there' and having my belly popping out, I can't see what it could be.
    TMI coming!
I know it's not a UTI, but it's not burning when I pee (only burning when I pee when the pee has finished) and it REALLY hurts to wipe because it feels like I've either cut it somehow (and can't think how I did that) or walking so much that it has been chaffing me down there and.. well... it's really hurting!
I've been rather horny as of late, but can't do anything about it (for me that is, not for DH) because I can barely stand me touching it to wash it let alone DH touching it.
The itching comes when the pain is more frequent, and usually the itching relieves it, but I can't keep my hand stuck down there as it just wouldn't look any good!
Any ideas what I could do for relief?

Do you have a thick discharge as well? If so, it sounds like Thrush.... very very common in pregnancy. I got it when I was 30 weeks and it drove me insane!!!!!! it wasn't itchy at first, just red, swollen and sore. I went to the pharmacy and they gave me Canestan 3 day treatment. It's a cream which instantly relieves the itchyness and soreness and also comes with an applicator to put the cream "up there" but they told me to only insert it halfway. Worked a treat.

If you're not sure, you may be best asking your GP, but i'd say that's what it is.

Hope it clears up for you soon, it's no fun at all!

    Ugh, I hate it!
I've got the usual white CM which the midwife told me was normal, but it seems like theres more and more and more every day. I'm highly waiting until my Obs appt on Monday to ask him if he thinks I should get the cream if it is that.
    Thanks heaps Janine

Sounds like Thrush to me too - Apparently it is quite common in Pregnancy and I know myself that I have ONLY had thrush twice and BOTH times were while I was pregnant - Was actually my first pregnancy symptom both times! I had what sounds like the same symptoms as you, but perhaps not as strong as I am a sook and was at the Doc's within 12 hours of my first "burn!" lol I also used the Canestan and my oh my, the relief! Aaaaaaaaaah! Lol I hope that's what it is for you! I'd pop down to your GP asap, not wait until Monday as I just couldn't put up with it any longer - I know how frustrating it is! Good Luck!! xx

Hiya, sounds like thrush to me too, I had it at 32 weeks and it was really sore. The thrush cream was an instant relief and my midwife said it is really common. Good luck.

I had thrush 4 times last pregnancy and it seriously was doing my head in....whilst the canestan did work....i would get the darn thing back in a matter of weeks. I got onto Inner Health plus capsules - about $25 for 30. Took one every morning (helps get rid of the bad bacteria in your gut....)and never got it again....

Oh that's me now too! I probably had it for a while but didn't realise til I inadvertantly spread it round to my backside by doing perineal massage - ggggrrrrr! So now I have a lovely case of widespread thrush and can;t do any more peri-massage
Oh well I reckon I've got off pretty lightly with this pregnancy - just hope it's well and truely cleared up before Pipsqueek makes an entrance......

If it is thrush, you could put a pro biotic straight up "there". It works really well. Hope you get relief really soon

you poor thing! Yeah thrush is awful.

Just make sure you ask your Ob about it while you're there as you may not be able to use the applicator you get with the kit. For example at 30 weeks I had it and as I mentioned above, I was only allowed to insert the applicator half way up..... then it come back last week (34 weeks) and my MW told me not to use the applicator part at all, just to use the cream externally to help relieve it.

You can use the applicator, just be gentle with it
