Exclamation Sorry me again? - Strep B +, is there a risk of infection after loosing your MP?

I'm thinking not until your waters break, but just want to make sure.

Is there a risk of infection of Step B if you loose your MP?

I'm pretty sure it isn't until your waters break as even once you loose the plug, the membranes are still intact and therefore no infection can occur. You will need to have abs for the labour though if you have tested positive for it. I have tested positive as a carrier and I need to have IV ab's at the onset of labour - the longer you have them for the better apparently.

Yep Mel, just posted in BB, but you should be fine till your waters actually break.

Thanks for your replies everyone, I had gathered it shouldn't be a problem, I feel so stupid for posting the thread. Thanks again.

Don't be silly Mel. The silly questions are the ones you don't ask and then stew over.

I'm glad you asked it too, although I'm hoping it's a long way away still. I was GBS+ with DS so I'm happy to gather as much information for #3
