Question Stitch type pain on right side

    Howdy All

The other night I got this real nasty stitch on my right side. It felt like it was starting in two places, hip area under my c-sec scar at the front and in the kidney area of the same side at the back. but its all down the side as well.

It was painful to do anything and everything.

About 25 min ago I got the same pain and still have it. My tummy is still quite soft and it does not feel like contractions as the pain is just there and doesn't go away and come back again iykwim.

I have had no sickness, nausea, or the runs, bub has been moving lots and I do not feel pressure "down there" no extra or runny mucus and no bleeding. Shifting positions helps a little bit but not too much, also if bub moves a bit it can alleviate some of the pain.

I have had a bit of gas and still am yet to have a decent movement (sorry TMI). I do have an Ob appointment on Monday, I am debating whether or not to call the hospital and go and get it checked or to see if it passes as I could just be backed up iykwim.

It really feels more stitch like than crampy so I guess I am not freaking out especially as I have had no other pre labour type symptoms.

So is this a normal pregnancy thing for the 3rd tri??

    Thanks all

Very normal. It is caused by either ur body stretching, or bub laying/pushing on a nerve. I got this real bad in my pregnancy, always on the right side too. Try and get bub to move from the position its in might help. It did for me.

Have you had any bladder infections? And have your bowels been working ok?... I also got stitches, it's as your ligaments move... but listen to your body, if you have a gut concern go get it check-out.

Thanks Mummy Mia and Dedicated Doula Gillian.
I have not been this far into a pregnancy before so all this stuff is new to me.

Bub eventually did this massive belly roll last night and that took the pressure off the area I swear she is using the ligaments for her own personal hammock

DDG - I will still ask my MW to check for a UTI at tomorrows appointment, and am still yet to have a decent movement but I think the pressure of bub might be preventing anything from moving.

    Thanks again so much

Nae... You sound very pregnant! The hormones do play havoc sometimes...And it does sound like she is using your ligaments like a hammock! Glad to hear you are still feeling the odd bits of movement... As she gets bigger it'll be more stretching movement and the odd poke and kick. You'll have some good laughs as you see your stomach do the occasional "mexican wave" as she rolls and moves. Keep us posted and keep talking to her especially now during these next couple of weeks.
