Putting your feet up helps, especially if you can elevate them while you're in bed - tricky as hell I know. Also make sure you're drinking plenty of water as I found if I got dehydrated my body would try to hold onto it's remaining water for dear life - strange I know. Reducing salt intake can also help.
I didn't get the urge to walk at the end, I got the urge to swim. A lot. Walking in water could be a good solution for you if you can organise it as the water will support your belly and reduce any further fluid retention that tends to happen if you've been on your feet a fair bit.
Other q for you though - was your blood pressure ok at your last check, or has the swollen feet come on really quickly? If it has, might be an idea to talk to your caregiver as it can be a sign of pre-eclampsia.
I hear ya hun.
I did want to walk a lot with DD I remember. These last two I have been too tired and hot lol.
Totally agree with CK. Drink lots of water. The more that gets flushed through the less swelling. I do also find the walking in water to be beneficial.
Lectric soda wrapped on socks around your ankles is supposed to help, but I have never tried that only read it.
It's a toughie isn't it. Mine have been swollen (not with DS though, just this time), and while you want to put your feet up, optimal foetal positioning would tell you to keep them down. Given my baby's been mostly posterior, it's hard to manage these. I found lying down was the best way to keep the swelling under control. Lie on your left, get yourself comfy and hopefully it becomes manageable. Comfy shoes and keeping cool also help. Keep your feet cool - cool washers on a hot (or, most importantly, humid) day and avoid socks.
As long as your BP stays alright there's nothing insidious there, just fluid. My BP's stayed the same too. Good luck!
Oh, forgot to say, walking will help the venous return too, so it will help get rid of the fluid - just do it gently, and without tight socks/shoes. Also when you're sitting/lying, keep your feet moving - it will help move fluid too. I agree with the other girls too, keep drinking!
