    Tell me about nesting

I feel like I'm abnormal because people keep asking me if I'm nesting. But I'm not!! I'm not frantically cleaning the house. I couldn't care less about housework. I can hardly bring myself to get the washing off the line!!
The only thing I have done is cook an entire chest freezer worth of meals. Oh & fill my laundry cupboard with non perishables & cleaning stuff - is that classified as nesting?

    oh yes sweetheart....
lol I did the same thing with both of mine. I was obsessed with having enough food /stuff to last us weeks...obviously my DH is a bit useless. And hey who was I kidding? I love the supermarket, a new baby wasn't going to stop me getting there.

I need an uncluttered and clean house at all times atm or I feel really anxious. I've run out of things to clean and it's driving me nuts LOL!

I haven't actually done any frozen meals yet . I really should get onto that, but cooking is very unmotivating to me for some reason!

Believe me, you'll appreciate all your frozen meals more than your clean house when your bub arrives .

any nesting i did was all about food as well! i quite like grocery shopping anyway, but REALLY enjoyed it in the 3rd tri (esp once i was on mat leave & could browse my way around without feeling tired after work) and i baked...and baked... my poor DP was putting on weight as i kept making batches of muffins, scones etc. i'd sit there at midnight & decide that we needed pikelets while watching tv!

i've only made one batch of muffins since coming home from hospital...i think my baking days are behind me for a few months at least! i wish i'd made more stuff in advance (i didn't make any meals at all!) because there are days when it's hard to balance making dinner & feeds!

I went crazy for a week - and now it's stopped again and I am at the point of 'Why bother? Its just gonna get messy again anyway!'
I'm sure I've still got a long way to go though!

I didn't have a nesting instinct either.... I did cook some meals to freeze, but only because my Mum came to help me. I also kept waiting for the instinct to kick in but nup.... business as usual (much to my DH's disappointment!!! )

I had a nesting thing with my last bub - but only after I had reached the 40 week mark and had started being 'overdue'. Then I developed this need to have the house spotless and was obsessively tidying and cleaning the floors etc, but of course with 2 other kids, DH and my mum staying with us, it was just impossible to keep the house perfect! I had everything ready for DD, I just needed a baby!

I didnt think I nested until I looked back at it, I cleaned madly. Stocked up on food and mad stuff like toilet paper. Obviously thought there was going to be some kind of shortage!

I also had a mad urge to get things done like painting the house and putting shutters in across the arch to shut off the back of the house (in hindsight this was actually really practical) of course I couldn't do these things myself so drove DH nuts "encouraging" him to get everything done.

With my last pregnancy it kicked it at 35 weeks after I stopped working.....I developed a love of Pine O Cleen and Windex and would clean my bathroom every day whether it needed it or not! (I just couldnt get enough of the smell for some reason, whereas before it was neither here nor there for me).....stocked up the freezer and my mum cooked up a whole heap of meals for us which was great.
I get days where I have the urge and will clean relentlessly for the day, but Im getting so big and tired now that it takes me 2 days to recover from it!!
Hoping to get that burst of energy again in a couple of weeks!!!!

I don't clean, or cook or grocery shop or do anything useful - I just rearrange the funiture 6000 times

Like as if the baby cares if the lounge is in one spot or the change table is there instead. I tend to go overboard shopping for bubs too - again nothing useful (we are completely out of wipes at the moment DS used the last one to wipe his nose) but for some reason I just had to buy some more tiny jumpsuits - we still have some with tags on from the last two babies!
