I seem to be leaking a bit after each loo visit... is this normal at this stage? I don't recall it happening first time around... I don't know if it could be waters slowing leaking or not.. I don't have another midwife visit till Xmas eve and already had one false alarm...hoping that my next visit to the birth suite is for real!
Also still having period type pain so just don't know what is going on, I just don't want it to be something that all of a sudden I start getting an urge to push, cos I've heard of women going into labour with minutes to spare...
Thanks for any help I guess I'm just getting impatient lol
ok. Here is my verdict... and I dont want to panic you.. but...at 37 weeks with my dd2 i went to the loo and then got up and leaked. so i sat down (thought maybe there was more...) then got up and leaked again.... DD was born 45 mins later. I had been having BH's all day and didnt realize they were actually the real thing.
so just keep calm, listen to your body, keep someone close by to help you out. AND if its worrying you got to the hospy.... it doesnt matter if you have half a dozen false starts... you dont want to be caught by surprise!
Hun I am not sure how much a concern it is but I have a feeling that leaking amniotic fluid isnt a great thing as doesnt the baby need all the amniotic fluid around it to keep it from being distressed??? I could be wrong but I think you should just give your antenatal clinic or the maternity ward at your hospital a quick call and let them know. They might ask you to come in or they might ask you some more questions about it.
I hope everything is okay, but better to have two false alarms than be going into labour and baby being stressed.
It isn't leaking as bad but i did leak a bit during the night... It does have a smell, but not sure if its urine or not...its a strong smell... Maybe I should get checked out especially if it keeps happening today... All my dreams were about my waters breaking last night... so don't know if I'm just worrying or its a sign
The baby can keep making amniotic fluid. It can be clear, pale yellow or pink in colour, I don't remember an obvious odour. You should contact your clinic if labour has not started within 24 hours. My waters broke at 33 weeks, and it was a significant amount, certainly something impossible to ignore, my fluid levels were low, but ok I was started on antibiotics. I have a friend who is curretnly being treated for a small leak at 28 wks, she is on oral antibiotics and has been sent home to rest. It seams to have healed up.She described her leak as feeling like that of heavy AF. At 36 weeks they may start antibiotics if labour has not started withing 24 hours, or consider induction. If the fluid is stained or has an offensive odour go to your clinic ASAP.
