Cass, just wanted to wish you luck!!! You sound like you don't have too long to go, you keep those legs crossed for another week or so, okay?![]()
And I agree, Alan is the best!

It could be a number of things and without knowing a little more I am not sure.
But if I was you I would not be expecting to still be pregnant at 40 weeks
To update you all...
After the pain i was feeling and waking up still pretty wore this morning, my lovely DF drove me to the hosp...
Which was a waste of time...
I'm going to confuse you all, this is what the OB said (after sitting/lying in the mac unit for 8hours) she said "You may or may not have a UTI, you may or may not have ruptured your membranes, there could be a number of reasons for your pain" And said "we're going to treat for the uti, and hopefully you will feel better in 24hrs, if you don't it could be a really resistive uti, or it might be something else" So if your not feeling better in 24hrs, or feeling worst then you should come back up to Mac unit"
So really i wasted 8 hours sitting in the mac unit, they put me on the monitors for 30mins, where bubby heart rate was going between 107 to 194. Contraction thingy monitor thingy was going up to 30ish a couple of times (think that could of been because beany was moving - she REALLY hated the monitors) ... But i told them i wasn't having contractions at that moment this pain was different...
They then took a Urine sample and me and DF went for a walk (to call my mum etc let her know what was happening) while waiting for results, which really made the pain worst so we went back. Mw got to feel some cx with her hands but they were just BH. Lay down for a while, got lunch (OMG i hate hosp food) mw wasn't happy with sending me home with out seeing OB first...
OB came after i had been there for 7hrs, she said that the urine sample was contaminated with blood and skin cells and bacteria (she said these are natural on vagina - but not in urine) , and she wanted another one and to try hold the vagina back to get a clear sample (now i can't see my vagina so how i was ment to hold the jar and hold the vj all without looking lol)
She also did a Duck test. Said that the cervix looks closed, she did a swap test that sees if the membranes are ruptured (if it goes yellow they are not, if it goes black they are) Mine came back black.
Then she gave me the antibiotics for the UTI that i may not have. and sent me home. with instructions if it doenst get better within 24horus or feels worst to go back...
Which is where i am now, still in pain, just more tired and sore from being so uncomfy up there with an added headache and my boobs hurt!!!...
good thing is i got to visit a friends NB while i was there, she was gorgeous!!!
Soooooo - have your membranes ruptured?
I am really surprised they sent you home if they have being that your not quite 37 weeks yet...
I don't know...Wih the great words of wisdom from the OB "they may or maynot have ruptured"
WTF! Cass. OMG that is shocking care.
Have they organised for you to have an ultrasound to check how much fluid you have in there?
That is rediculous.
You may well as not gone to the hospital...
Grrrrrr I am so p****d off on your behalf!
What the bloody hell????? This is a hospital??? Purely unacceptable! How could they do all those tests and then say they have no idea. What was the point of them all?
I also know what you mean about baby trying to push their head through a closed cervix. Holy hannah that hurts like crazy, doesnt it? Phoebe has been doing it to me for the past few weeks and even the kids know when she does it now because I always yelp out in pain!
Honestly though, I would not have been happy at all with that lack of diagnosis, but I can also understand why you are home now despite it.. Last time I waited 8 hours for the doctor to say "I dont actually know what it is, so try this cream on it" I actually did say I wanted a second opinion and he happily informed me that it means going to the back of the list again... another 8 hour wait.![]()
OK Cass I think that you made a mistake. I think that you went to the local soup kitchen instead of the hospital, after a real hospital would not have said the things that you were told.
I can’t believe what that OB said. I wish I was a little closer to you I would love to come and check you out as it should be done. And the government want to ban homebirth midwives. I think that they have got something wrong somewhere.
Here Here Alan!
You rock!
