    what should i do today?

it's two days after my due date and nothing is happening. dp has had last two days off but has gone back to work today. i'm starting to get anxiety about stupid, non pregnancy related *stuff* in my head, and i basically just don't know what to do with myself. can anyone suggest what i should do today?? i'm about to take my dog for a walk up to the park but it is getting extremely sore and uncomfortable. is it worth giving acupuncture a go to help me with relaxation and to try to bring on the labour a bit?? or should i just go for a pregnancy massage? open to any suggestions as i'm just not sure what to do with myself...

I think Sam has it right. Your on the homeward stretch, relax and get pampered. So your feeling 110% energised when it does come time to meet your little one.

I also suggest going out for lunch etc...with girlfriends. Even just having a long conversation on the phone to someone. Get your hair done, get your toes done, have a massage, pack your bag, and hire some Dvd's!

    GOODLUCK!

LOL Gracie, have a baby!! Ok, for Jack, walking seemed to help bring it on. For Tom, not having my bag packed worked a treat. Maybe unpack your bag and be totally unready for it!!

Seriously, sleep while you still can!!! Wishing you all the very best Gracie and I' hope to read the announcement really soon!

Try and find a project to work on - something baby related? Make a wall hanging or start a baby journal. Write a letter to your baby and seal it up in an envelope to give to them in later years.

I found it helped to keep myself busy in those last weeks with 'nice' projects that I enjoyed doing.

I hope you don't have long to wait!

feeling a little bit better now. my dad came over and we went for a long walk with the dog. then went to a cafe and had an iced chocolate. seems to have eased my anxiety a lot.
mel- i am thinking seriously about tipping my suitcase out about 5 minutes before the new series of prison break starts tonight, cos i figure if it's ever gonna happen, it will happen when my bags aren't packed and michael schofield is about to be on tv..

hi gracie - i meant to update you after i had my acupuncture... for me i think it was a good part of my prep. i personally asked him not to focus on the induction points - as i didnt want to be induced (but i did have Noah at 39 wks) but rather to focus on points for relaxation and to prepare my body. I also had heaps ofpreg massages - 1 per fortnight and i think that helped with prepping my body for the labour (mine was v short - 4 hrs) as did yoga and swimming...
so if i was you i would do as the girls above have said and have a bit of a pamper... but also i recommend acupuncture and massage to loosen muscles, focus you etc. it worked well for me...

hi mel!!! i don't know what i'm still bl**dy doing here!!!i'm trying my hardest to have a baby but it's not working. i'm doing much better today actually. dp had today off work and he took me to hospy for ctg and kept being silly and making me laugh. now that i'm this far of the edd i'm actually feeling ok and quite relaxed about it. the first 3 days were pretty hard though and i got quite anxious. i've organised to go out to lunch with a friend tomorrow and am looking forward to watching grand final on saturday and - who knows?- if something happens, then i guess it happens iykwim??? if not, then i'll be induced on thursday...and i'll just have to deal with that when it happens....in the meantime ive been walking everyday, eaten curry for dinner (lol) and we're gonna dtd later tonight !!! wish me luck..

i've done that LG!!! i went out to lunch with a friend and shopping today. retail therapy made me feel better. bought a nice candle. it's pretty weird though when shop assistants say 'when is your baby due?' and i have to say 'it was due last monday' and then everyone freaks out and tells me i should go home!!!
