i was 50mins away and planned a few places near the hospital (one was just a really nice park) that i could go to if i felt i had left too early and didn't want to go in to the hospital.

    I was 10-15min away...

DS1 contractions began about 2am and we didn't leave until about 1pm. DS still wasn't born until 12:50am on the following day.

DS2 my waters broke which then had merconium in them, there was no huge rush to get there. I had time to go home and get my bags then head to the hospital.

DD my contractions began about 3am and we made out way to the hospital about 7:30pm. Most of her labour was at home and she was born 40 min after arriving at the hospital. If my waters had of broken at home it could have been a very different story.

I like the idea of maybe being able to have a comfy place a little closer to the hosptial (if it's possible) to be able to progress and get your VBAC.

Timing is such a hard one to know as each one can be so different.

I left when I couldnt handle the contractions anymore - they were 2-3 mins apart

hoping to do the same this time around, I'd prefer to labor more at home

Considering your are 1.5hrs away from your hossy I''d check with the hossy

    Good Luck tho!

I left when CX were 2-3 mins apart also. When I felt like the CX were starting to ramp up.

I had been having contractions for most of the day and DH rang when I was having ctx about 5-6 mins apart and because I was going for a VBAC and had had a previous cesar they wanted to see me - Im glad I went then as the ctx really ramped up.
