Yeah i can't wear my wedding rings since about 28 weeks![]()
Ok thanks girls..... looks like I can expect any time from birth until up to about 2 weeks?!
Never mind, i don't have long to go now..... I can do it! lol
As for those who got swelling worse after the birth, welli don't think i could get it any worse (check out my gallery pic LOL)
They are just so darn sore!! I might ask DH reeeally nicely if he can massage my feet later.... hehe
I would only swell up occasionally... but freaked out when my ankles blew up again a few days after Samuel was born. The midwives in the hospital assured me that it is completely normal for it to take a few weeks for any swelling to settle down. Go the support stockings! Not exactly high fashion, but they do help keep you a bit more comfortable - and take them to hospital when you go into labour, too. Just to help deal with any swelling you may get after birth.

I think I'll get Dh to get me some of those stockings to take into hospital, thanks girls.
He's a nurse so should be able to get me some from the hossy before I go in. Happy to wear them while during hossy stay anyway & at home after.
Eek! I don't recommend the hospital ones! Horrid white things with open toes - at least that's what my hospital gave me last year when I was admitted with OHSS. I got some from the chemist - didn't look much different to regular stockings and were heaps more comfortable.
The icky white ones were "accidentally left behind" when I was discharged...

LOL at the hospital stockings. I didn't mind them, they were free! and I was wearing trackies all the time anywayNo way was I getting around in a nighty or anything when I had to wear maternity pads LOL. Trackies all the way for me, so it didn't matter what was on underneath.
I swelled up at night for a few days after the birth, but I did sooooo much walking between the ward and the NICU that I think I shifted a lot of the swelling and even baby weight! And the nurses weren't concerned about DVT either coz of all my walking LOL.
Hope it disappears quickly for youOne thing that DID disappear immediately after the birth was my carpal tunnel. It was miraculous! (that was with my first).
