    When is he coming???

Ok I know noone can say and every one is different, but I just wanted to know what people's experiences were. I am 38+5 and SO desperate not to go overdue. I am worried because so far there have not really been any signs that anything is happening... no braxton hicks, no contractions, no mucous, no show, nothing! I get some pelvic pain but no different than 2-3 weeks ago when I was 1/5 engaged, so I;m pretty sure he's in the same position as then.

So my question is, for first babies, did anyone have similar experience but then have arrival on time, or does the fact that I;m nearly 39weeks and have no signs of imminent labour mean I;m more likely to go overdue??

Help! I am SO over this and ready to meet my little man.

    When he is ready!!

There are a few things you can do to try and help bring on labour, raspberry leaf tea, sex, walking are a few that come to mind. But pretty much your baby will arrive when he is ready to be born. I know it can be hard waiting, my DF and MIL drove me mad in the last few weeks constantly asking if I felt anything and when she was going to arrive...your EDD is just that, an estimate, so if it helps try not to think that you are going to be 'overdue' as your bub probably isn't 'overdue' at all, he will be perfectly cooked!

I can't offer you any advice sorry, only a little sympathy as I'm in exactly the same position as you! I'm almost 39 weeks, baby is head down but not engaged and so far no signs that anything exciting is going to happen I worry that this lack of 'pre labour' might mean that I will go overdue and may even have to be induced which scares me a little. Also I've been told I have a fairly big baby so I really want her out sooner rather than later!

I hope that other ladies can tell us that they too were unaware of things progressing yet suddenly went into labour on or before their due dates!!

Best of luck with it, I hope things start to happen for you sooner rather than later!

    Hi Fi!

The answer was sooner that I thought!! I had antenatal appt at 38+6, still 1/5 engaged only, no BH etc, but SO uncomfortable and over it. That night went out for dinner, went into labour at 3.00am, baby arrived at 07.10 at 39 weeks exactly!! (My first baby!)

So now I know the answer- lack of signs means nothing! He was ready to come and shot out much quicker than I thought.

    Loving getting to know him.

    Good Luck!
