Hello ladies, I know theres info on sites etc. But i was hoping for help on what you think i need to pack for the hospital stay, and when i should have this packed and ready.

I took 3 bags to hospital. One was a labour bag with my food, camera etc in it. I also had my hospital bag & a separate bag for the baby (just used the nappy bag).
Take plenty of food, I took lollipops, tetra juice packs, muesli bars & fruit sticks for labour. Stuff you can easily eat bits of & hold in one hand that will give you energy. Plus you might want to snack while in hospital.
Plenty of maternity pads. I thought the Libra ones with wings were the best.
Those flushable toilet wipes - much more comfortable than paper after the birth. I also used them after showering instead of drying with a towel.
Comfortable loose clothes for easy breastfeeding. I just took tracksuit pants & breastfeeding singlets.
Pen & notepad in case you want to keep notes for a journal etc.
Alot of toiletries come in those little travel sizes now which is easier for packing in your wash bag. Take shampoo, conditioner, a nice loofah, some lovely smelling body wash.
Find out what your hospital provide for the baby. My hospital provided cloth nappies & nighties, though I didn't use them. I took gro suits, wraps, a hat & those snap croth singlets (don't ride up babies back). Also take different sizes, my baby was too big for the 0000 I packed. Lucky I also packed 000!!
I'd pack soon just in case. You don't want to be running around packing when you go into labour!!

Here is a thread that I started about this very question, there is lots of really useful things in here http://forums.bellybelly.com.au/foru...ital-bags.html\

as far as when to pack the bags - I would do it now as really bub can come any time it feels like it. I have started 4 piles on a spare bed and am washing and replacing things that I use. this way once IT happens then I can just throw everything into the bags and off we go.

i've only ever taken two bags to hospital.

i take a suitcase big enough for all my stuff, baby clothes, blankets, nappies/wipes etc

then i used my nappy bag as my labour bag. in that i had my shower gel, a change of clothes for after the birth, a pair of socks, hair brush, some panadol, 2sets of clothes for baby, 2 blankets, the sample pack of wipes from bounty bag, a sample pack of wipes, sample pack of breast pads.

I always go everywhere with a bottle of water and i dont eat during labour but some people choose to take food and drinks.

some other things to think about packing are
    *flushable wipes
    *toilet paper
    *note pad and pen
    *money
    *something to read
    *portable dvd player and dvds
    *ipod
    *mobile charger
    *tissues
    *a bag for DP
*some green bags to pack any gifts into you may get while in hospital or for taking home soiled/dirty clothes
*pastic bags to put soiled/dirty clothes in

i also packed early and lived out of my suitcase
