Question Why would my ribs start hurting now?

Hi all, I'm currently 37+4 weeks pregnant. I haven't really had much rib pain with this pregnancy as bub has always sat pretty low. Last night I started feeling a lot of pressure under my ribs and it is still there today.

Should this be happening so late into the pregnancy? Bub was engaged at 35 weeks and still in place at last Thursday's check. I know bub can still move around, especially being my third pregnancy, but is it normal to start feeling rib pain/pressure now when it hasn't really been an issue before?

    Any thoughts would be appreciated

I think it's probably normal. Bub's just running out of room.

Thanks for your reply . Yeah, maybe bub has had a growth spurt and is taking up more real estate!

Unfortunately, I've had mine since about 14 wks so I can't help that much - best of luck with the upcoming birth of the little princess

Ouch! Maybe your girl kicked you in the ribs and you are a bit bruised? I remember that happening to me when I was pg with DD. Or could just be your little miss claiming more real estate

I hope it eases up for you soon.

    Thanks LJ

Thanks too Sangie! Wow, look at your ticker!! Hope you are traveling well

I'm starting to think bub has done a bit of a rearrange in there overnight. I had heaps more o'night toilet trips than I normally do and today my cervix feels like a sharp knife is constantly stuck in it LOL. I had a very uncomfortable car trip earlier that was very painful on my bladder and cervix, I'm not in a hurry to drive anywhere again!

Oh I hope I don't have weeks and weeks left of this

He he Trish I was thinking the same about your ticker!

Yep sounds like she has moved around a bit. Ooohhhh maybe she's getting ready for her grand entrance

P.S Ouch on the car trip. Let me know if you need anything, I'm still ok to drive and happy to help if need be

With Riv, my ribs caned, but not with Si - I think that's because Riv was long? So perhaps you have a longer baby in there? Dunno. But I can sympathise with the discomfort.

I hope she's not too far off! My past track record says otherwise though LOL! Thanks for your offer of help, you're so sweet .

ETA - Thanks Nelle . My ribs hurt with both boys, that's what's so weird! I haven't had much rib pain with this bub until now! It isn't to bad atm thankfully.

No probs Trish, us third tri girls have to look out for each other!

You never know, she may do the opposite to her brothers and arrive a little earlier. After all girls are better with directions
