Will they stop labour at 34 weeks?

At what stage do they stop labour progressing?

I'm currently experiencing painful tightens in front & back 9-13 minutes apart (last hour & half) and they've asked me to take panadol, lay on left hand side and if things progress then ring in again but fingers crossed they ease and nothing comes of this.

I am not sure, but praying bub hangs in there a few more weeks!!!

It would depend on a lot of different things I think - the size of your baby, how far progressed you are when you arrive at hospital, how the baby is coping (heartrate and all that), your ob and health care team and if you have any other concerning conditions, bleeding etc

Did you get checked out at the hospital or did you just ring them? If you haven't been checked out, don't wait too long to see if things settle down, go in and see them and don't take no for an answer. They should check you out immediately if you suspect labour is starting prior to 37 weeks.

I really hope you are just having some uncomfortable BH (they can be really awful too - I had them from 32 weeks between 2am and 7am daily - it is incredibly stressful). Sending your baby lots of 'stay put' vibes

I rang them, no other signs of labour so I guess they just want to see what happens. If they get closer or increase in pain I'm to ring again. Guess I should have taken the panadol when I noticed they were coming regular.

She did say that the rest of my pregnancy could be laced with uncomfortable Braxton Hicks :-( I had unpainful tightens three nights ago.

I went into labour at 33wks and they stopped it but as said before depends on bubs condition. Hopefully bubs will stay put for a while longer.

BH are awful! I really feel for you either way

Managed to sleep some of the night, nothing increased over night which was great, going to take it easy today (as much as you can with the nearly 3 year old) and if things are still happening after lunch I will ask to be checked after our hospital tour which we have booked for 2pm.

Woke up with a sore throat & the diarrhea :-( which hasn't been much fun either. On a bonus for the DH I didn't snore last night... I slept quietly for once lol

Where I work usually after 34weeks they will let labour continue without intervention. However they were very firm on the fact they were going to try keep my bub in using drugs like nifedipine if need be until atleast 36weeks. As it turned out for me it was just an irritable uterus and not prem labour which is good. Although I'm finding this pregnancy so so hard I also want a bub that can come straight home with me and not be exposed to all those nasty germs and procedures in a lengthened hospital stay. Hope things settle down for you for the next wk to two atleast and the diarrhea doesn't stir things up even more.
