I planned my babymoon ... I didnt want to leave the house. We did though, as Shel had heaps of time off and wanted to show off Jazz LOL. I wouldn't 'plan' too much, Especially in that first week, best to plan absolutely nothing, lol.
Hi Ladies,
A babymoon is a term I have only heard whilst being a member of BB. Just wondering how are you preparing for your babymoon?

Ot: Eek Bek I didn't realise how close to having bub you are,,
How exciting
babymoon. All I wanted was quiet time at home when we had 3 and 4 so we did just that, Dh took heaps of time off (7weeks then 8 weeks) we spent it at home . Lots of gardening was done by Dh. and housework. I sat and did nothing well almost nothing for that whole time![]()
A good thing to do is make up a whole batch of freezable meals so that you don't have to do much in the way of cooking!!
Other than that, invest in some comfy pajamas and relax![]()
I am planning on not doing too much. Although I really want to take a couple of weeks to recover, rest when bub does and spend time with my girls.
DH and I have discussed the possibility of getting a lady to come and help with the house work and clothes washing for a few weeks. This will help me relax a bit.
I have a meal plan sorted and my freezer will be packed with easy meals.
My answering machine will be on to filter calls.
DH is working from home do he'll be around to help too.
Nic - Yep time is flying and I am so unprepared this time. I remember your DH having time off but I didn't think it was 8 weeks.
JItterbug - I have new pjs!!! Thankfully it will be winter
yup it was 8 great weeks. Livi was born 20th november and he went back to workjust after she turned 8 weeks. It was especially good because he had almost all of the school holidays off
I am blessed again to have my 'babymoon' in winter! so that means staying home, warm slippers & dressing gown, heater on... and going with the flow! i have no idea how dd is going to adjust to this new bub, so i will take it as it comes! im more worried about dd than i am about how i will adjust to our new situation!
i dont have any plans made at all.. im sure ill have visitors here n there.
Bek - what sort of meals are you freezing? This is something I could do in the next few weeks but never know what to freeze
I'm just going to play it by ear and try not to have any of the expectations I did last time. I'm hoping DH will take at least 2 weeks off work this time (usually goes back to work when I get home, by my request I should add) and my mum will be staying longer this time to help out too.
I am planning (when I'm over this flu!) to make a start on things in the nursery etc and try to mentally prepare for the fact that this is actually, really happening!

Willow:
We have a freezer full of meals. I have made and frozen 4 containers of spaghetti bolognaise sauce (minus the spaghetti), two meat lasagnes and 1 vegetarian lasagne, 1 tuna casserole, 1 beef stew, 1 pasta bake and some other leftover things that we've had from other meals as well as a big container of soup.
Hope this gives you some ideas![]()
Willow - I will cook up a couple of serves of spag bol sauce, sheppard's pie meat base, make some pizza bases (par cook them and freeze), some soup stock base, maybe a meatloaf. Other things that we normally don't eat but I'll stock up on is family meat pies, and a latina style pasta packet. I am planning on using my slower cooker too!!!! This week will be my "organising' week and trying to mentally and emotionally prepare for the arrival.![]()
Havent actually thought about it. Im hoping things will be easier this time round as DF returned to work the day i came home(24hours after birth) after #2.
All i know is i want to stay at home as much as possible, have very few visitors while im trying to adjust to having 3kids.
I'm trying to get organised this week too Bek. DH went and got our layby out and finished all the things he had to do in the nursery so no excuses now.
I think I will do the same, cook up some batches of spag bol sauce, maybe a casserole or two in the slow cooker. The shepperd's pie base is a good idea too!
Maybe closer to the date baking some cookies/cakes too...i cant get over how many visitors we have had over the past 2 weeks and how many cakes/slices etc we've had to buy.....i did have some frozen that i baked but they didnt last long.....
My Dh is going back to work tomorrow.....ive got the school drop off and pick up with 4 little people all on my own.....mmmm it was nice whilst it lasted (DH doing the running around......
).
Good luck mbear! I'm sure you'll do fine![]()
Oh Bek I am not even pregnant with number 3 yet and I am already planning my babymoon LOL!!!! My mum currently has my boys 2 days a week and when I am both on pre-baby mat leave with #3 and after his/her birth, I hope she will take them 3 days a week!!
gosh the babymoon?!!!i havent even packed for the hospital yet! or been to the hospital booking appt (nxt week) yet!
previous 2 babymoons; i enjoyed living in pjs 24/7, no visitors (other than visiting nurses & lactation consultant), and day 3-4 Im ready 2 go out for some grocery shopping and coffee.
should get my butt into gear by:
clearing out the freezer, cleaning out the fridge, making meals in advance & freezing them in a now spacious and clean freezer.![]()
Goodluck MBear!!! I am dreading the kindy drop off which is only 2 days per week. Great idea about some cakes/cookies. Thanks
Rory - Goodluck TTC when you are ready. I've asked my MIL to come over and take the girls for a walk to the park a couple of times per week in the initial couple of weeks!!! That is about the extent of baby sitting I can hope for.
dust - No visitors would be great!! I am planning on using my answering machine to filter calls...
