We attend a lovely private primary school in the Freo area.

I do know that most of the primary schools are pretty strict with their boundaries - I had a friend who had major problems with Beaconsfield Primary and in the end she now has one child there and another in Samson Primary - she was outside the "Zone" by 1 street and even though they accepted her eldest child they would not accept her youngest!

thanks Ang, yes I have heard some negative things about Beaconsfield. Can I ask which private school yours go to? If it's catholic then I'm afraid that's out for us as we're not. It seems that not being catholic severely limits your options in Perth We're in the area for White gum valley but very close to the border with Freo's catchment area. I just heard the other day though that East Fremantle is "better" whatever that means and we are trying to weigh up our options.

    Thanks for replying!

    Hi everyone,

I'm quite new to posting replies to forums so i hope this works!! I just came across your discussion regarding schools in the Fremantle area. We are currently thinking of moving to either Beaconsfield or White Gum Valley and was after some more information about the local public primary schools and private schools. In regards to private schools, we would prefer a more Christian (as opposed Catholic) based school, but as you say, these options are limited in Perth.

When you say you have heard negative things about Beaconsfield PS, are these issues to do with zoning or rather academic performance? Any help or information you could provide would be most appreciated!! Pls feel free to PM me if you'd prefer.

    Thanks so much.
