Do you let your kids watch TV before school?

I was surprised to find out that many people do. I don't just mean 10 mins if they have everything done and ready. I mean they turn it on when they get up, and it is on the whole time.

Absolutely they can watch TV in the morning. Most afternoons the TV stays off but if they want to watch a some ABC 2 or 3 in the morning I don't see any reason why they shouldn't. It doesn't interfere with getting ready for school. I suspect the neighbours prefer the TV days to the jumping on the trampoline and running about in the garden days.

Hahaha, I could have posted the exact same thing! TV doesn't interfere with my three kids getting up and ready before school . They don't last long in front of it before they are out on the trampoline or kicking a footy waiting for me to take them.

If I let my DS have the TV on he would be still sitting in his pj's with maybe one sock on!

No My kids just can't get ready if its on. Even if it was to be on with just "snow"on the screen they would still take forever and a day to get ready.

Yep, happy for DS to each his breakfast watching ABC4kids, I can duck in the shower and get us organized that way. If we aren't leaving the house though he's usually too busy playing in his pjs as we tend to get ready a bit later.
The only tv rule as such we have is that we don't just have it on randomly in the background. Happy for him to watch his fav shows though
DD seems to always turn her head towards it when she's on her playmat and we have it on. They get addicted young hahaha

My kids can watch tv. They can even play video games! They get up get dresses, make their beds, empty the dishwasher, pack their lunches and have breakfast. All by 8am. They have 30 mins to do as they please. I figure if I get on and check Facebook or anything else why can't they have their own time? If they didn't get these things done then there would be no free time. Which I actually feel guilty about due to the fact sometimes I'm not as strict with myself
