High School with no air con

I know when I was in school there was a policy that if it was above a certain temp we were able to stay home. DS's High School has no policy as such and with tomorrow being 38 I will be keeping him home. Does anyone else have children at a school without air con that does have this policy. A few weeks ago we had a few hot days and he did go but came home feeling sick and said that quite a few of the students had fainted. They don't even have any shaded areas outside for them to sit down and eat their lunch.

    Regards,
    Dianne

My dd's primary school has not aircon, and we had a week of 38ish temps, the teachers would spray them with water in spray bottles etc, and we could keep them home or pick them up early if we felt the need.

I went to 4 differnt schools, and at all of those school there wasnt really any air con except for in the library and in the portable classrooms. We didnt have any policy like that though, but I have heard of other schools that would send students home early if it was over a certain temperature. Sometimes when it got really hot the teacher just let us lay on the floor in the classroom and have a rest, but I cant remember ever being able to go home early, and there were certainly some hot days of 38 , 40 degrees.
