My DD is 6yrs old and she is in year 1.

ATM she is in a class with her best friend, but unfort they don't gel well work wise for my DD. The other little girl is lovely but they are both ultra competitive and unfort for my daughter she isn't in a position to be competitive with this girl.
My daughter needs to slow down in class otherwise her work standard is very low. This other little girl picks things up quite easily so my daughter is rushing and pushing herself to keep up with her.

I know they are young but to me its a vital learning term for DD and Im not sure what to do about it.

Is it normal for young kids to do this? Should I maybe get the teacher to try and separate them in class? or ask for a class change? Im worried that she may just find another little girl to compete with.
