My daughter is in year 7 next year at a catholic secondary school and it is $723.14. I certainly was not prepared for it. I had budgeted for around $300 lol
    That's just for the booklist

I haven't received anything yet regarding Year 1 next year. But for Kindy this year (NSW public school) we had the voluntary fee of $50, and a compulsory fee of $70 (I think??) which covered their books and scissors etc so that they could just supply the same stuff for them all. They said this is the first time they've actually cracked down on the compulsory fee. No fee, no books. So some kids had to wait til their parents coughed up. Which is sad, but I think there were a number over the years who "forgot" to pay this fee.

They did put the odd call out for glue sticks and tissue boxes and stuff, and we did do a fair bit of fund raising through the year, so they do get more money out of you that way
