    Hi Niamh

I'm not sure about Maroochydore Primary specifically, but most public schools here on the coast start at 8.45am and finish at either 2.45pm or 3pm.

Regarding school holidays, you can find all of this year's and next year's dates on the Ed Qld site here.

1st off welcome to Australia Yippy you have choosen well, We are planing on moving there in May so I hope to see you around...

Anyway I have a GF who is traveling Aust ATM and her Boy is at this school she hasnt said anything bad about it ( and she has a rascal of a boy too ) so thats always a good thing....

As for when they start I cant be sure but most likly for QLD would be about 8.50am until 2.50 pm or there abouts just depends on the school ( this was the times when my DS went to school in Cairns )

Summer break starts in QLD 19th Dec and they will start back around the 28/29 Jan....

    hope some of this helps....

BTW could you tell me if you found it hard to find a rental there like I said we are moving there in May next ( can stand another cold winter here ) so want to know what we will be up against....

    How old are your boys?

It was quite a few years ago now, but my brother went to Maroochydore Primary and I went to Maroochydore High. Good schools.

Tali - I know a few Property Managers on the Sunny Coast. Let me know when you're looking for a rental, and I'll pass their details onto you.

Hey Niamh, It school hols here and I am at my parents place for two weeks and cant get to the net, its killing me ( but working well for my BB addiction lol)...

Anyway i would love to get to know you better seeing as we are moving that way in May... BHL is still talking Cairns but I really dont want to go back up there, he thinks I am been starange as I know no-one on the sunny coast but all the GF I had in Cairns have moved out, so I really dont know anyone there either.... I think BHL just want to mountain bike, but I am sure he will find some tracks on the sunny coast, plus he will get to surf again which he hasnt been able to do for the last 8 yrs as we have lived in Cairns and Darwin without surf....

Glad you liked the school, If one of your boys is in yr 2 and there is a boy named Ellis then you have found my GF so you should go say Hi to his mum Kirstene she is really loud but super friendly....

What yr are you Boy we might even have them in the same yr next yr , I have Ds in yr 4 next year and DD should be in yr 1 but was thinking of putting her into prep ( if they let me ) as she is in Kindy down here and hasnt yet been to school so dont know if yr 1 would be too much.... ( she is a May baby so will be one on the young ones in yr1 anyway )

Its good to know that you found rentals easly if you dont mind how much will I be looking at for a 3/4 bedroom house there? I will be def telling Jodi when we are leaving it alway looks better if you know the agents ( or a friend does ) As BHL FIFO of brissy he will just not come home one week close to the moving date and look and apply for a lot of rentals and see what happens I guess...

If you dont mind me asking what made you move to QLD it will be a huge climit change for you ( it was bad enought for us moving down here into the cold ) I have a sister who is living in Scottland ATM but she is missing home after 2 yrs away and wants to see the sun again... Just remember that even when you feel really hot you will get used to it... like I used to say to anyone who was new to the tropic it takes a wet season a dry season and another wet before you can feel that the dry isnt as hot as you 1st thought it was, so it would be the same there i reacon it will take two summers before winter will feel like winter....

Well I hope I haven't scared you off with all my jabering....
