I'm not sure about Eltham, but we know people who live in Eltham who are planning to send their kids to Serpells Primary School in Templestowe (it's supposed to be very good).
I have noticed we have a few members in the North East of Melbourne - can anyone recommend or talk about any good schools they know of in this area? My daughter is only one but being new to the Diamond Valley, we want to get a feel of what is a good school in this area!

We live in the Diamond Valley, we are very lucky with the schools we have they all have great reputations. Did you end up choosing a school. My sons started school this year and I'm so glad I choose that school, he attends Diamond Creek East P.S.

We just very recently moved out of the area after all that lol!!! We have looked at a few schools and have her name down at one of them, we may move back at some stage closer to her going to school, but at the moment I am really enjoying being much closer to hubby's work - so it's all up in the air now!!! Better start looking out here just in case![]()

My niece goes to Hurstbridge P.S. and my SIL can't stop raving about it. She also went to one of the kinder's there - there are two next door to each other so I can't tell you right now which one - and loved it there too. My nephew is starting 4yo kinder there this year, and it's reputation is still going strong.
Let me know if you want me to find out which kinder it is.
Cheers,
Rachel
Ferguson Park is one and can't remember the other. They are great kinders, I always think it weird they are next door to each other, they should join and create one big kinder there was talk of that. Don't know what ever came of it of course. Hurstbridge Primary School has a wonderful reputation people come from as far as Epping to attend there.
hi
just wanted to reply to schools in the eltham area. I have taught at a few schools in this area, and most of them in our area are great. It really depends upon what your child is into, or what you would like your child to persue.
For instance, the bigger schools such as apollo parkways and glen Katherine have great computer, it science programs, whilst schools such as Eltham East, Greenhills have great music prgrams.
there are only one or two schools in the area that i didn't like, but that was a personal thing for me.
if you would like any more detailed info, you can email me directly at odette_oz@yahoo.com.au
the main deciding factors for me is the staff, especially the principal as it is the tone that they present, that is echoed and felt throughout the rest of the staff and school. Happy staff, happy kids
hope this helps

We're thinking of moving from Diamond Creek to Doreen, only 10 mins and I will travel to and fro daily for Primary school to Diamond Creek, but I'm concerned about High School and the choices we'll have. Being out at Doreen will we be able to attend Diamond Valley and if not what state high schools are open in that area. It's 5 years away but still worth the thoughts. Does anyone know or have any suggestions etc. I know there are two great private schools out there, Ivanhoe Grammar (mernda) and Plenty Valley Christian College but I was thinking about something public just incase I'm not back at work, cause money will be an issue if I'm not working by then...... Okay I know but just my thoughts atm.
