Have you guy received the school kids bonus yet?
We to out fbt at the end of the year so won't get it until around October![]()
Nope, not eligible.
we got ours. Was nice to get it now rather than having to claim it back.. Will be nice to put it back into savings considering we had to buy all our school things before christmas!
Ginger, we got ours on the day the FTB normally goes into our account. My sister did too. BUT...
I rang about a fortnight before to ask about the dates and was told that even though I had gone through the palaver of logging in late last year to make sure both my kids were registered as school kids, it turns out there was a bit of info missing that meant that DD1 wasn't registered as a school child (even though they have had that info since she left childcare 10 years ago). So if your normal pay day has come and gone like normal, it's worth ringing up to check.
Thanks md. Yes my normal pay day was today and I didn't get it. Is it best to call or go on Internet?
nope not eligible
Got mine today & brought the rest of DD1's stuff.
She is currently wearing her school shoes in, she looks so grown up in her uniform.
Will go lay-by her winter uniform in feb/march & some black boots as well.
Ginger, ring them. I had filled out all the fields on the regristration form online & yet apparently some crucial thing was missing (which was info they already had btw) so yeah, I don't have a huge amount of faith in the online form on this one.
I'm starting to get a little sad... where did my baby go??
I keep thinking to myself, this is the last week that I will ever have 2 pre-school children, that's kind of freaking me out a little.
I think I'm over-analysing things a little, but I can't help it. I can not believe that my little baby I held in my arms is going to be a big school boy.
I'm getting all choked up just typing this, I'm going to be a mess come Tuesday.
Please tell me I'm not the only one!
My DD starts next week.. I bought her uniform this morning.. I was in tears doing that, so heaven knows what I will be like next Thursday..
Jaycee - I'm not a cryer at school start time (I have a bit of a skip in my step as I leave LOL) but you most certainly are not alone. There are a lot of dark sunglasses worn those first couple of days. I think I'll feel it more when I send off my 3rd, as that will be the end of my preschool days altogether. I'm quite nostalgic and have a lot of "nawwww... they're growing up
" moments, but we enjoy each new stage. The kids have been excited to start school, and we are excited with them.
Coming into this thread late, but my DS2 is starting school Thursday of next week. I'm going to miss him SO much! He is super-excited though, I'm so happy for him.
DD is going to miss him, they are little besties and I feel sad that they won't play together all day anymore. I am looking forward to having two in school though, hopefully it makes running a business from home a little easier! At least I won't have to break up sibling fights while on the phone with customers.
Trish I was just thinking how much DS is going to miss his big sister when she's at school. They also play together all day, every day. His little heart is going to be broken I think
I'll probably be wearing sunglasses on DD's first day lol! She starts next Thursday too and is super-excited. She's wearing her school shoes today to break them in a little and she keeps telling me how much she loves them lol!
I must be the odd one out, because I am really excited for DD to be starting school. She is going to absolutely love it. I remember when I started school and thinking it was the best thing ever! I really loved school, and I think she will be the same. My boys will miss her, and of course, I will miss her too, but only because I am so used to seeing and being with her 24/7. But it will be nice, in our house, for my two boys to have time alone to bond together, and particularly for DS1 to be the 'boss' for a little while, because he takes so many cues from DD and she is the boss when she's home!
Nope, 3lm ... not the odd one out. I'm really excited for DS1 and while I think I may have a pang of "my little boy's all grown up" come Wednesday, on the whole I think he is at a stage where he really needs the challenge of school. Plus I have a 3yo and a nearly 5mo ... so there's never a dull moment at home for me to sit and get teary thinking about DS1 being a preppie
As many of you with other children feel, I think DS2 is really going to miss his big brother. They often fight and carry on (like many siblings close in age, I guess) but equally they play together really well. DS2 is nearly as big as DS1 and thinks he can do whatever big brother does. I'm pegging DS2 is going to think he can go to school too ....
